I’ve been thinking of the great meals we had on the train… the first morning we didn’t know where the dining car was and made the best of what we found in another car,,,
then we discovered where the dining car was, and had excellent meals from then on, lol… at each meal you got to choose between three options…
and at each meal we ended up sitting with people who we hadn’t met before…

yesterday, I had two deliveries…
the first was from La Belle Baguette and included croissants, butter tarts and sourdough bread… I was hoping for scones, but they aren’t baking those just now…
I am so happy that they are doing deliveries on Fridays and Saturdays now that we have been shut down again… I shared the croissants and enjoyed my chocolate one… it was delicious, as always…
I had other things planned for dinner, but decided on a grilled cheese with onion and bacon… yum… the rest of that loaf will be cut up for stuffing and popped into the freezer…
the butter tarts were put into the freezer, either as a treat for me, or something to have should anyone drop anything off and I want to send something home with them…
a bit later in the day, my groceries from Save-On-Foods arrived… these days it takes four or five days for delivery and more items are out of stock… but, nearly everything gets here…
I am blessed to have these options available… and happy to do a bit of local purchasing where I can…

played with some technology so that I could have Easter dinner with the kids in Ottawa…
we tried two or three options and ended up using Google Duo… worked nicely, once we got it figured out after my son-in-law found it, lol…
they got a bit fancier with their table… I was focussed on getting the computer set up, lol…
I had roast chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, turnip, asparagus and cranberry jelly… they had homemade pasta, salad and chocolate bunnies:-)…
everything was delicious and it was a nice treat to eat with others…

recently I picked up some Morden’s Russian Mints when I was shopping at Save-On-Foods…
once I got it to the car I realized that the box had slipped down the side of the cart and hadn’t been paid for…
I was on a tight schedule and didn’t have time to go back in and pay… my plan was to pay for them the next time I was in the store…
have had a few conversations with others recently about what they might would do in the same circumstances…
quite a few opinions… many felt they would just keep the item… I was a bit surprised because there is no way I could keep and/or use something that I hadn’t paid for… others who have the same idea as me talked about how the staff in the store would look at them like they were out of their mind… too funny…
today I went in and paid for the chocolates… I feel so much better;-)…
