had a lovely time on Monday taking photos of the water lilies in the Leo Mol Garden…
it sprinkled a few times throughout my time there, so I did end up putting on and taking off my rain jacket, lol…
there were also quite a few frogs in the pond and I do love to search them out and get a few pictures, lol…
too bad I didn’t have my Nikon so I could have gotten closer shots…the warm water in the lily pond certainly helps with all the blooms…
there are also lilies in the arbour pond, but more pads, than lilies…
reminded me of my art installation…

the morning glories are exploding…
on Tuesday I counted twenty-six on the obelisk next to the back door… happy I took some nice photos before it rained, lol… the rain completely destroys them…
today I didn’t count, but I think there may have been even more, and there were two blue ones on the butterfly bench;-)…
sock a lovely way to begin the day…

it is interesting how some days the flowers put on a show and other days they look ragged and very sad…
today the pansies next to the house were very happy…
just a few days ago I was thinking they were completely done…
only one morning glory was open, but it was lovely…
still waiting for the mandevilla and hibiscus to bloom;-)…
lots to look forward to…

had a fun time remembering the “installation” which a friend helped me install a number of years ago as I was making adjustments to them…
the installation consists of twenty-nine photos of water lilies which I had taken…
over the years a number of the pictures had slipped in the frames and I finally got around to removing them one by one and taping the photos to the matting before reinstalling them on the wall…
there had been wine and a lot of laughter as we worked away to get all the pictures up on the wall, lol…
this time my housemate was able to help with the pieces I couldn’t reach, lol…
happy to have this project completed…

was having some trouble with the new photo frame…
for some reason it stopped accepting photos that were sent to it…
after some investigation I discovered that it was offline… wasn’t sure why or how to fix that…
then all of a sudden it was working again…
I’ve also decided to turn it to vertical rather than horizontal… the majority of pictures I take use that orientation…
and was able to change the piece on the back so that the frame stands up the way I want, lol…

Monday morning the sun was shining, woohoo…
I was so excited about it that I did some of my steps in the kitchen, as the sun shone onto me…
I was so happy about the beautiful light that I didn’t even take a photo, lol…
it looked a lot better in the sunshine…
over the last few months there have been so many overcast days, not our usual sunshine…
climate change is certainly creating havoc with our weather…

November 18 was my dad’s birthday and I’ve been thinking of him a lot lately…
he was kind, generous with what he had, and always thinking of others…
he looked after my brother and I for many years while my mom was in hospital and he took care of her when she was home…
he was soft-spoken and I don’t think I ever heard him shout or speak in a loud voice to anyone, but if he gave you the look (which didn’t happen too often), you knew to pay attention…
he was also the one who taught me that everyone deserved fairness, a second chance, and appreciation for a job well done…
he was very special;-)…

the other day my grandson came to the door and said something had happened to my plants… he heard a crash as he was showering and came out to the shower caddy that we had installed in January laying in pieces on the floor with bits of orchids everywhere…
I was so shocked I didn’t even take a picture of the carnage…
it took a while to pick up the plants, sweep up the broken bits, and dump out the soil…
then, we ignored it for a few days, lol…
when we put it back up, we decided to use strapping and screws…
I still need to replace the one broken pot…
hopefully this time the whole shelf won’t come crashing down, lol…
