the other day I ordered some cotton and a new crochet hook…
it arrived yesterday…
I am going to try to make some dishcloths as soon as I remember how to make a square, lol…

I’ve been enjoying my Advent calendars for these past eighteen days…
the boxes for the one have been on the stairs with a few elsewhere when all 24 wouldn’t fit…
as they’ve been opened I’ve rearranged them until now there aren’t any on some of the steps…
they have been filled with items from paper clips, a label maker, seeds, purple and handmade items, as well as a favourite chocolate bar ;-)…
the ones on the wall are turned once opened and I’ve enjoyed all the treats in them as well… from a variety of nuts to a few with chocolate in them;-)…
these are the hands that have filled all of them, some with instructions from far away, lol…

spent Sunday setting up the Christmas tree…
first I had to move the plants in the front window to other spots and move two tables out of the way…
then I spent some time removing two strings of lights… one that didn’t work and one that I restrung on the tree…
then, six or seven boxes came upstairs and were gone through to see what was in them and decide on the theme for this year’s ornaments…
chose glass pieces that have rarely been out since my beloved’s passing…
once it was decorated, I was advised that it needed more purple🤪… can you believe it, lol…
so I added more purple…

finally got around to changing the living room table…
it has been the same since springtime, yikes…
took a little while to put away the shells, crystals, stones and books, as well as the sarongs that had been on the bottom of each of the four areas…
next, I found the Christmas box that had all the smaller purple, silver, white, and clear ornaments…
filled three squares and then brought down three angels that have special meaning for me to complete the last spot…
I’m pleased with the result although I haven’t quite decided what goes on the top, lol…

bought a few tree greens while at the grocery store…
dug out two birch branches, some small white twigs, and a stem of red berries from the shed…
went through a Christmas box and brought out some large ornaments…
last week I’d brought in the planter from the top step so it could thaw out so all the dead plants could be pulled out…
took the planter into the garden, removed all the dead plants and added in the greenery…
after everything was included, it was carried to the front steps…
added some solar lights…
looks good…

walked over to a craft sale Sunday…
had fun picking up cards, a bookmark, a tray, an ornament, a travel mug, and some matcha tea…
most of it for me, but maybe a few items for Christmas;-)…

so happy when a tidying streak continues, lol…
spent some time in the front door area sorting through bins and baskets…
filled another box with pass-alongs without any difficulty… including purses and bags…
all of the gloves went into one of the Ikea bins which will make them much handier and easier to find…
one basket holds all the hats, a second one all of the bags (some of which had been hanging from the coatrack taking up space), the third one holds all of the bottles and sprayers for critters and fancy shoe cleaners, and the last one holds binoculars and extra tape measures…
much more organized and easier to see which one holds which items…
just noticed how many purple things there are, lol…

I spent a large portion of the day reading in the garden and enjoying the flowers and fish…
as the afternoon progressed I watched the morning glories close up… it reminded me of all the days when I worked and how, by the time I got home, they were all done…
this morning I took a photo of the butterfly bench with a number of blooms on it…
currently the majority of the blooms are the large blue ones with a few smaller purple ones still popping out…
by late this afternoon they had all shrivelled up…
what a treat to be able to enjoy them from start to finish;-)…

the morning glories are exploding…
on Tuesday I counted twenty-six on the obelisk next to the back door… happy I took some nice photos before it rained, lol… the rain completely destroys them…
today I didn’t count, but I think there may have been even more, and there were two blue ones on the butterfly bench;-)…
sock a lovely way to begin the day…

yesterday I picked purple and green beans, a few peas and a bunch of dried peas (looks like I missed a whole feed of them, sigh)…
I also spotted some small cucumbers which are not quite ready but should be in a few days… mostly they are growing on the other side of the fence, lol…
once the veggies were picked, I topped and tailed them before cutting up…
I was so excited that I cooked them for my lunch… at least now I don’t get sad when the purple ones turn green when cooked, lol…
they were delicious;-)…
