put on my boots this morning because there was snow…
wonderful to see the glistening snow all clean and bright on the ground… been missing it a bit, lol…
fun to make the footprints and then take their picture…
couldn’t believe the traffic… everyone was moving appropriately, but it was slow going…
had the all season tires on when I got to the office… they are so pretty…
but, when I headed for home, had snow tires…
they look much better with the fancy hubcaps on, although not as pretty as the all season ones, lol…

big girl pants, breakfast, English Garden, Leo Mol Garden, path, runners, snow, sun, tulips, walk, widow
strange weather today… had planned to meet a friend for a walk around the Gardens at the Park…
sky was lovely when I was first up at 6:45…

if you look hard, you might see the robin in the tree… then this…

all those white dots – snow, sigh… so we decided to meet for breakfast instead…
actually wore runners because I didn’t want to get my toes wet and the temperature was around zero…

after breakfast I went for a walk to and around the English Garden…
couldn’t get into the Leo Mol portion but was excited to see they are replacing the gravel path with bricks… they have replaced other paths in the Garden as well… looks very nice and will be easier to walk on…

the tulips are just starting to open… glad I went over today… hope to get there next week to see them in full bloom…

can’t believe it but it was snowing out again… the elements are not cooperating, sigh…
hard to tell from this picture but it was coming down and swirling around thanks to the wind…
no sunshine today…
lovely view out the bedroom window last evening…
yesterday I saw a post on Facebook about grief… searched a bit and found it was written by Gwen Flowers… it talked about grief never going away, just learning to incorporate it into your daily life…
in this poem she writes… Grief is not a task to finish and move on, but an element of yourself – an alteration of your being.
an interesting take on it and something that I will have to think about…

no time to walk on the treadmill this morning but I did get a nice picture of the Japanese Maple… the leaves are coming out in full force…
this is a real sign of spring…
the snow that keeps coming down isn’t the most difficult thing we’ve had to deal with lately… it is the grayness… the sun hasn’t been out very much over the last few weeks and that affects many of us…
have noticed that it occasionally comes out late in the afternoon…
and so it did today… got this lovely shot of the orchids in the sunshine…
just amazes me how happy a few minutes of sunlight can make me…

big girl pants, camera, computer, eyefi, histograph, iPad, iPhone, pictures, snow, Technology, widow
happy today to get my camera back from the hospital… it had been there for a couple of weeks and I was really missing it…
pleased it wasn’t an expensive fix and it is back to its usual wonderful self…
am going to have to re-enter all the info about my eyefi to get it connected again, so that will be a job for the next few days…
had a friend look at the Olympus to remove the histograph from the view on the screen… I had tried a few times, without any success, to delete it as I find it distracting… he couldn’t figure it out either, lol…
had some fun downloading pictures from my iPhone to my computer at work… this was great because I had taken 77 pictures of an event last week and wanted to get them into a folder on my office computer and didn’t want to send them in groups of four by email… much simpler and way quicker…
technology is great when you think about it…
just this afternoon we were looking at a form we had used six years ago when I started… it collected all the information but was handwritten so then we had to guess what had been entered… now, we email a fillable form which comes back typed and makes entering the data simple… if it isn’t filled out when a person arrives, we have an iPad available so that it can be completed in the office…
here’s the view out the window today…

the sun was shining brightly into the living room tonight as I sat waiting for my friends to arrive… four of the five of us were going to be together…
so amazing to be sitting in the bright light at seven thirty at night… yay…
unfortunately there is still a bit of snow on the ground…
received the first drawings of the kitchen today… trying to look at them and decide whether it is just what I want…
interesting to see the kitchen from someone else’s point of view…
been doing a lot of looking at things with an open mind lately and need to stay in that state of mind…
it is so easy to only see things the way you’ve done them for ages… much more difficult to envision possibilities…
need to keep that open mind…

watching the JUNOs and enjoying all the performances…
more time in the computer room… not sure you can tell that I spent hours in there today, but progress is being made…
it was too funny this afternoon… as I was putting the sea shells into the drawers of the living room table, snow was falling outside…
the best news was that I knew exactly where the shells were located… no vanishing this year…
went to the Home and Garden show this afternoon with the kids… picked up a lovely wooden spoon… I have a bit of a thing for wooden spoons… don’t seem able to get rid of any old ones…
also found a new cleaning service… very happy about that as my cleaner just advised yesterday that she isn’t able to continue due to the distance from her area to mine… makes sense, but made me sad as they were excellent…
stumbled upon Polished Cleaning Services at the event and was impressed with them… looking forward to a great relationship… and pleased to have this all sorted out…
progress made on many fronts…

didn’t make it out to the hot tub last night, but first thing this morning I put on my water boots and trod through the snow to enjoy a great time in the tub…
wasn’t too chilly and the sun was shining…
squirrels and blue jays were dashing about with peanuts… the hot tub is a bit overfull so the water was right up to my neck…
had a giggle as I walked back to the house…
was just a few weeks ago that I was sitting in this very chair having lunch and getting a bit of sun…
came in and was watching some tv… having trouble getting motivated but a conversation with my daughter helped get me off my butt and doing some organizing in the computer room and bedroom…
hard to tell from this picture, but I shredded bags full of paper and packed a box of goodies to give away while organizing my paper supplies… always happy when I can let go of things at the same time as I am looking at them, lol…
still have some work to do in there, lol…
also spent some time editing jewelry and knick knacks in the bedroom… might have been wise to only focus on one room at a time…

had an excellent day yesterday…
early in the morning got this great shot of the garage roof which glittered with a thin blanket of fresh snow…

took a few pictures of the buds on the Japanese Maple, which is a sure sign of Spring for me…
then it was off to help with the set up for a special event…
a good friend picked me up and we went to Peasant Cookery for a lovely early birthday lunch… delightful…
from there we stopped at UN Luggage where I found a rain jacket… my current one is on the large size and I heard that I should have one in New York…
bit of a colour departure for me but the magenta leans towards purple, lol…
our last stop was a walk through the Gardens at Assiniboine Park… it was a gorgeous day…
this goose seemed to be looking for the water, lol…
spent some time playing with my Olympus camera as my Nikon is still at the hospital…
rather pleased with this shot…
