Saturday the sun came out for most of the afternoon… wonderful after two days of snow…

watched the hydro power wires from the lane to the house off and on all day…

early in the day I noticed that two of the cedar branches were hanging on the wire…

checked online and with family but couldn’t decide whether it was safe to go out and knock the snow off so the branches would get off the wire and there wouldn’t be any problem with the house’s power…

as the day went on the snow melted and first one, then the other lifted off the wire… made me very happy…

many cedar branches in the yard have been bent way over but it looks as if they will all recover… that is not the outcome for many, many trees in the city;-(…

the snow fell for two days… my driveway is covered and I wasn’t sure that I could get out, and then back in…

I needed groceries for Thanksgiving dinner with my grandsons on Monday so yesterday I shopped online at Save-On-Foods…

you pick your items, many from the list of previous items you’ve purchased in the store, choose a delivery time (usually the next day), pay with your credit card and you are done;-)… it costs $10 for this service…

they call you in the two-hour window when they are nearly at your house, bring in the groceries and advise if there have been any substitutions…

then off the driver goes and you get to put away your groceries…

although, I need to work on figuring out how much things like mushrooms and Brussels sprouts weigh in kilograms, lol…

as the weather is getting cooler (in what seems to be) daily, I’m enjoying some of the great benefits that Indi provides…

instead of turning up the heat, I just turn on the seat warmer… a toasty bottom makes all of me feel warm, lol…

and I love the warmer on my steering wheel… don’t need my little gloves just yet;-)…

although I wish the entire wheel was warmed…

a few years ago my daughter introduced me to the Google maps app…

I have really found it to be helpful…

I’m a visual person and like to know where I am going, so looking up an address and then seeing a picture of the spot, or something close by is very reassuring…

I have to take back the crutches I rented from the hospital and now know exactly where I have to go… takes the stress out of finding a new place, lol…

reminded me of trying to find things in the past with a paper map… trying to unfold and refold, depending on the spot we were trying to get to… and rarely getting it put back correctly… sometimes there might have been some grumbling…

technology can be wonderful;-)…

well, my ear is doing much better… so far the meds are working with no side effects…

my technique is to take a photo of the box just before or after I use the drops so that I can remember what time I need to take them next, lol…

took the shot in a hurry this morning…

been rushing out to the garden every time I get home to see if the water lily has bloomed…

it has opened up quite a bit… weather has been cool which doesn’t help… not sure if it is finished or not…

and for whatever reason I haven’t been able to get good pictures… the yellow in the centre always turns fuzzy… weird…

so excited because I found a new way to download my iPhone photos in a quick and simple way…

picked up this iXpand Flash Drive SanDisk which holds 64 gb…

while I was sitting in the parking lot of the store, I downloaded the app and saved 1800 photos to the drive… all in about five minutes…

previous methods I’ve used have taken way longer to copy pictures…

easy to find the pictures by date and then copy them back to the iPhone if needed…

oh, I think I’m going to have lots of fun…

I was scrolling through facebook the other day and came across some tips…

the absolute best one was about closing tabs when on the internet, thanks to diply.com…

we’ve been on a quest at work to find ways to save time and I’d found a great one about closing all open Excel files at once… then I found the one that lets you close all open emails in Outlook…

this one is even better, because I often have many internet tabs open, particularly on my phone…

I just tried it now and there were eighty open… see how handy this is going to be for me!!

on the bottom right of your screen you see the icon that looks like a couple of pages… hold it down and it will offer options… one of which is close all tabs…

it also appears to work on androids, maybe at the top of the screen…

I love technology;-)…

I watch tv a lot and I PVR tons of shows…

over the last week I’ve noticed that the tv is saying it is recording shows, but the next day they are not there… seemed very odd…

finally took the time on Thursday night to poke around and see if I could figure it out…

what I discovered was a place telling me that the PVR was nearly full… a big red bar all the way across the screen, lol…

there was no place to clean it out and all the programs get deleted as soon as I watch them, so it was odd…

Friday morning I called BellMTS for help… after running all through the house to find the main PVR, in the basement of course, I had to turn it off and back on… when it rebooted it was fine…

the technician advised that it shouldn’t have happened and it would be fine in the future… but as I look at it now it says there is something PVRed, but there isn’t, sigh…

at least I know what to do when it happens again;-)…

I did giggle after he told me to unplug it…

turning equipment off is one of the first suggestions I make to my colleagues whenever they are having technical issues…

busy day as I researched and decided on which version of iPhone X I would upgrade to…

walked up and down Polo Park a few times as I checked out the various options…

one of the things I was most interested in was the quality of the camera, as I take many photos…

also, size of the phone was important… I didn’t want something too large for my hand and that would feel uncomfortable…

and then there was the issue of the case… I have the most wonderful case now, but it isn’t available for an iPhone X…

I want something that doesn’t cover the front of the phone as I do take so many photos…

in the end I chose the iPhone X and purchased it from The Source… picked up a Huawei tablet and a Kate Spade cover…

I also found a case that holds a few credit cards… not sure yet which case I will use most, lol…

then I came home and figured out how to move my data from the old to the new…

even got the tablet working with all the apps I use… it will be fun to learn the android system…

looking forward to playing with these new toys;-)…
