another organizing day… someone suggested I was having a new year cleaning, lol, as opposed to spring cleaning…

this time it was in the bottom of the corner closet where the tea towels, dishcloths, and “paper” towels (which are now small pieces of fabric that are reused) are located…

the space had got a bit disorganized, lol… too messy to share a photo, lol…

everything went into the washing machine, dryer, and then was all folded…

I found two boxes to add a shelf area…

looks lovely and tidy… wonder how long it will stay that way🤔…

so happy when a tidying streak continues, lol…

spent some time in the front door area sorting through bins and baskets…

filled another box with pass-alongs without any difficulty… including purses and bags…

all of the gloves went into one of the Ikea bins which will make them much handier and easier to find…

one basket holds all the hats, a second one all of the bags (some of which had been hanging from the coatrack taking up space), the third one holds all of the bottles and sprayers for critters and fancy shoe cleaners, and the last one holds binoculars and extra tape measures…

much more organized and easier to see which one holds which items…

just noticed how many purple things there are, lol…

another lovely day…

spotted a baby bunny, snacking on poppy plants…

and a bigger bunny in the middle of the garden…

a bit later my housemate discovered the cutest little frog and popped them next to the pond…

I had an enjoyable time reading outside, although I did have a blanket on as it was a bit cool, but the garden looked tidy following a cut, trim and blow, lol…

everything is so lush following all the rain…

the waterfall area has had the last of the liner cut back now that we are sure it isn’t leaking, yay…

last evening my middle grandson arrived after his workday…

we had supper and then he patched the steps, making the mortar in small batches…

as he worked he tidied everything up, which I really appreciate;-)…

it took about an hour and a half to get the job done and it came out very nicely;-)…

next will be scraping the steps in preparation for laying the carpet…

we’ve had to postpone this work a number of times due to the weather, lol…

Hilda the Gardener spent a few hours on Wednesday afternoon tidying up the garden…

now that the poppies are finished blooming, she removed the ones that were in the walkway and cut back the ones in the flowerbed…

the other plants in that bed are visible and will likely spread out a bit more…

she also removed the lily of the valley from a section of the side garden…

the columbine are taking over but it looks fabulous… and the peas are moving up the arch at an astounding speed…

everything is doing well, including the clover and grass that we put down a few weeks ago…

I will be very happy when I don’t have to water it every day, lol…

on Monday, we had a “tour” of the redone basement when everyone arrived for our weekly gathering…

my housemate had tidied it up the evening before to be sure it was ready for the event, lol…

there is a lot of technology used in the space and it has been fun to watch as each piece has been installed…

it was interesting listening to the comments particularly as no one had been down there in years…

Wednesday I spent time in the computer room…

usually I take time at least once a month to tidy the space…

the desktop gets a bit messy as I am very good at bringing things up, but often leave them on the desk without putting them away properly, lol…

it looks so nice when it is tidied up…

my next project will start shortly as I begin sorting and organizing tax documents to send off to the accounting folks;-)… at that point there may be quite a few pieces of paper all over the place…

months ago we made a concerted effort to clean, tidy, and organize the basement back room…

it got a bit messier when the furnace was replaced, lol, as containers close to it had to be moved…

after Christmas the holiday bins were sorted and put away neatly, but there were still many boxes and bins out…

the other night we finally got the project finished and it looks great down there;-)…

now to keep it that way…

we were back in the garage last weekend and spent an hour reorganizing…

we planned to spend another few hours to make enough space to get the car inside, particularly as we have tons of snow already…

we did spend another focussed time in the space… this time all of the stuff that was in the rafters came down to be sorted…

there is a ton of wood and other items on the floor now, in various piles… for garbage, giveaway, and a small pile to keep… but the space above is cleared out and ready for whatever needs to go back up there…

no room for the car just yet…

had a bit of fun tidying up the corner cupboard…

had to get out the step stool to reach the top shelf…

didn’t take too long and reminded me of how much tea I have up there, yikes…

now it is organized nicely, with the items I use least located on the top shelf…

happy that I got one of my little projects completed;-)..
