had a lovely time on Monday taking photos of the water lilies in the Leo Mol Garden…

it sprinkled a few times throughout my time there, so I did end up putting on and taking off my rain jacket, lol…

there were also quite a few frogs in the pond and I do love to search them out and get a few pictures, lol…

too bad I didn’t have my Nikon so I could have gotten closer shots…the warm water in the lily pond certainly helps with all the blooms…

there are also lilies in the arbour pond, but more pads, than lilies…

reminded me of my art installation…

a few weeks ago I picked a beautiful ripe tomato from the tomato plant… when I turned it over it had blossom rot and I had to toss it..

last week I picked another one that had just started to turn the slightest shade of orange… it went onto a shelf in the kitchen and turned nicely red, and when it was turned over the bottom was perfect;-)… and it made a lovely open-faced sandwich…

today I took off the next tomato, this one is a bit smaller, but I am hopeful that it will ripen without the blossom rot;-)…

hoping that this will turn into another beauty…

was up early this morning and went out to sit in the garden… it was a bit chilly, so I had a blanket around my shoulders…

it was sunny at that point, although the weather network was suggesting it would rain for a good portion of the day, so I decided to enjoy the weather while I could…

usually I would read, but instead, this morning I just watched the antics of the critters in the garden…

as I sat there the birds were visiting the suet and a bunny was snacking on the clover close to me…

what a treat;-)…

the morning glories are exploding…

on Tuesday I counted twenty-six on the obelisk next to the back door… happy I took some nice photos before it rained, lol… the rain completely destroys them…

today I didn’t count, but I think there may have been even more, and there were two blue ones on the butterfly bench;-)…

spent a good portion of Saturday working through the project list…

the flat rock in the waterfall area was glued down…

the sad planter got a few coats of bright blue paint…

a used pond hose had clamps removed and was cut down into pieces that fit into the garbage can…

large pieces of tyndall stone were moved to tidy up the veggie garden area…

a board under the bed was trimmed so I won’t bang my shins on it…

a broken piece of 2 by 10 was removed from the bench and clamped together to produce a template for the replacement…

what fun to check off so many items from the list😊…

Wednesday was such a lovely day…

started the morning with Hilda the Gardener, who arrived to do some maintenance in the garden… I’ve been thinking of the change that she has made to the space over the years;-)…

it always feels so fresh and tidy after her time here…

while she was working away, I picked beans and peas, and spotted some cucumbers starting, yay…

then a friend stopped by with a bag of books for me and I had a bag for her as well;-)…

we hadn’t seen one another for ages and had a great catch-up…

after they both left, I read and relaxed in this lovely space…

yesterday I picked purple and green beans, a few peas and a bunch of dried peas (looks like I missed a whole feed of them, sigh)…

I also spotted some small cucumbers which are not quite ready but should be in a few days… mostly they are growing on the other side of the fence, lol…

once the veggies were picked, I topped and tailed them before cutting up…

I was so excited that I cooked them for my lunch… at least now I don’t get sad when the purple ones turn green when cooked, lol…

they were delicious;-)…

had some fun Tuesday morning in the garden…

happy to see the first hibiscus flower open… it didn’t seem to bloom as much as usual through winter…

and noticed begonias, tiny poppies and more bachelor buttons… the bachelor buttons have gone crazy, lol…

I’m hoping to capture some of their seeds and sprinkle them throughout the garden;-)…

and at last I saw some beans, purple ones, woohoo…

I even pulled weeds from the fancy morning glory planter…

they were planted late so I am hoping they will bloom before it gets too cold…

feels great as the garden is beginning to produce ;-)…

the lawn didn’t get mowed last Sunday because the grass hadn’t grown much, and this Sunday because it rained most of the day…

my friends were coming over yesterday afternoon so I decided to mow and whipper snip the garden… I waited until just before noon to give it more time to dry out…

moved a chair and some tables and then figured out how to get the mower going (been a while since I used it)… there are many things in the garden so it takes a bit of effort to get around them, even though it is a small space…

once that was done I pulled down the whipper snipper, found the battery, attached it, and went around all the edges… apparently, at some point I should have tapped it on the ground to extend the line that does the cutting…

I was rather pleased with the result, and then put the furniture back…

just before I brought out the cushions, it started to rain😣…

so we met in the house, lol…
