this morning I had some fun bringing out a few decorations for Halloween…

plugged in one of the pumpkins and put a witch’s hat on it…

next I moved the dining room table and set up a second pumpkin after stuffing it with some solar lights…

it also got a witch’s hat… apparently I have a number of them, lol… a friendly witch and her purple pumpkin finished off that area…

one velvety cape went on the dining table and the other spiderweb one went on the living room table, along with a few halloweeny items…

and, finally, I changed the cushions on the couch…

yesterday, I set up pumpkins with lights in them, and put a witch’s hat on the larger one…

I filled a bowl with chocolate bars and set it by the door…

we had twenty kids, about average for our neighbourhood… this was a good number considering how cold it was… I was surprised at how quiet they were – many of them just rang the doorbell, lol…

two of them were from Sturgeon Heights collecting non-perishable items for Christmas hampers… last week there was a flyer in the mailbox advising they would be coming so I had gathered a few items to donate… made sure they got candy too;-)…

the house looked good with the ghost on the steps and pumpkins in the window;-)…

had some great Halloween fun tonight…

driving buddy came for supper, passing out goodies to trick-or-treaters, and a sleepover…

there was quite a bit of hilarity as costumes were donned…

not many kids this year… just twelve;-(… not the kind of record I was hoping for… the weather was lovely but maybe that made it easier for them to keep walking and focusing on longer streets filled with houses… a short street that has a park on both sides of one end isn’t too popular…

but, the very first one was dressed as a witch, just like me… we did not see any superwomen riding horses, like what we had in the house, lol…

it is certainly more fun to welcome the little people when you have company…

this afternoon when the kids came over, they brought their pumpkins… they are way bigger than mine, lol…

we had supper early and then got down to the business of carving…

this year we all scooped out the guts and seeds from the inside of the pumpkins… usually some people don’t want to get their fingers dirty…

went for simple designs this year as there were only three of us carving four pumpkins… great job by everyone…

they decided to leave the pumpkins here because they will all be out on Tuesday trick or treating…

works well for me because I haven’t brought out any of the Halloween decorations…

wrote this blog on carving pumpkins a few years ago and there are pictures of George working with the kids…

was thinking of him a lot as the younger boys and I worked away…

witch’s hat looks pretty cool…

well actually, no one said Halloween apples… got a few trick or treats but when I asked if I could play a trick or get a treat they advised they were just here to collect candy, lol…

I took some treats to the office this morning…

could hear people giggling from my desk… I wore dark clothes, a skull scarf and had my witch hat leaning on my desk…

barely had time to get my jacket off, the pumpkins lit and my hat on before the first kids arrived…

they have all been friendly and polite… nearly everyone has said thank you as they departed…

the ghosts seem to be going over well…

got some shots of the pumpkins from inside…

and out…

it was raining when I stepped out to get the pictures… might explain why it’s been quiet for quite a while…

most of the kids think it’s cool that I have a costume on too…

still more fun when there is someone else helping…

lights out, decorations on the dining room table, and I am watching The Chew…
