a lot of furniture was moved today… seemed simple…

it was that little thing where to make one change you had to make another and then another… thankfully my son-in-law and grandson were up for the job and made it happen…

ended in the living room… I am very happy with the outcome… need to change out the plants and the items in the drawers of the table…

this is the tv/guest room now…

and finally this is the downstairs look…

although when I am on the treadmill I face the tv, this does point out that I need to get some art up on these walls, lol…

now some decluttering and it will be all good…

great time with plants…

yesterday I potted some paper whites…

set them in the living room hoping to get flowers at some point…

also saw some lovely flowers when we were out for lunch…

really is quite amazing how flowers can perk me up;-)…

this morning I spotted buds on the hibiscus…

excellent day…

this morning the service person arrived and fixed the hot tub… hurray…

not sure if it will be up to temp tonight or tomorrow so that I can get in it…

bit of time playing on the computer and then lunch out with my BS buddies to celebrate a birthday…

wonderful time at Cafe Ce Soir… I had asparagus and shrimp soup; chicken liver pate with peppercorn white wine aspic; and pecan pie… the birthday girl had fun…

it is a lovely spot… small with fresh flowers on every table, attentive staff and delicious food… can’t get much better than that…

we had a nice chat with the owner/chef… those are his birkenstocks in the picture, lol…

and then, home for a nap;-)…

been thinking a lot of mothers and daughters lately…

a number of women in my circles are in that difficult place where they are looking after their mothers…

some of them are ill, some just need extra support…

it reminds me of when I looked after my mom as she was dying… and what a gift that time was for me…

it also makes me think of my girls and how they are looking after me now…

seems like what goes around comes around, lol…

hot, or not…

last night when I got home I had to add water to the hot tub as the repair person advised they couldn’t test it until it had more water in it…

so there I was at 6:30 pm topping it up… in the dark… at 6:30, sigh…

got hold of them again today and spoke with a different repair person who was able to explain it to me a little more clearly…

apparently the heater needs to be replaced… hopefully they will be here tomorrow…

not a cheap repair but they are confident this will fix the problem…

looking forward to being able to go out without having to wonder whether the temperature will be 103 or ???…

got my Canada Goose jacket back from More Than Pyjamas today… Margo took it in by four inches and it fits perfectly now…

so happy because I wasn’t able to wear it last year as it was so big… had been told by the makers and a few sewing places that it couldn’t be altered… pleased that this old coat has been made new again…

spent a lovely time this evening with Kali Martin who owns Atomic Age Vintage… she stopped by the house and took away two boxes of treasures and a stack of old lps…

pleased that I’ve finally made the effort and a tiny dent has been put into the piles of stuff…

spent some time at Rona on Saturday looking for just the right colour of paint for the bedroom…

brought home this paint chip and think it may have just the right colour…

I am often drawn to a colour by the name…

the one I am leaning towards is Angel’s Gaze… cool for a bedroom and has a slight pink tone…

for years the living room was painted a lovely pale pink which made it so welcoming and comfortable…

looking forward to the changes…

have been feeling stressed for the last few days… wasn’t until Facebook reminded me this morning that it has been five years and eight months since my beloved left me that I put two and two together…

had the worst sleep – or lack thereof – last night… was anxious and couldn’t settle down…

now that I know what the stressor is likely I can settle down… that’s what usually happens anyway…

finally had a hot tub this morning… been having some issues with the temperature dropping so plan to have someone out to give it a look… but this morning it was at just the correct temp…

had to climb through the snow to get there, lol…

at one point during the day the sun came out and shone brightly in the garden and I got this pic…

sun and shadow are so beautiful…

later on the sunset was lovely…

hoping for a better night’s sleep…

had a quiet Friday off… did very little until late in the afternoon when I prepped two recipes…

one was for a slightly adjusted version of calico beans… one of my favourite recipes which I haven’t made for a long time… mainly because it makes so much… this time I left out the pork and beans in the recipe, which really made it smaller and less sugary… got six portions from the recipe…

the second was Aloo Goni Masala… had a third for my dinner and packaged up two portions for meals this week… this was one of the ChefsPlate offerings… tasty…

rather nice to have meals prepped for lunch or supper for the week…

because I don’t like to freeze things, a few might make their way to the kids;-)…

fun peeking out the window today, whenever I walked by…

watched a big hot tub get installed in the neighbour’s yard…

yesterday I heard what was clearly the pad getting laid… and this morning I watched as they opened the fence, brought the tub in and then hooked everything up…. since then it has had the cover on as the water warms…

was out checking mine because the temperature has been dropping for days… been peeking at the temperature over the last week… it had gone down to 73 but this morning was up to 96…

called to arrange for a service call so this can get fixed, but haven’t heard back from them yet… will call again tomorrow…
