I’ve been thinking of how much harder this pandemic would be for me without my oldest grandson…

very early on I lent him my car with the agreement that he would do any errands that I needed…

since then, he has fetched and carried numerous items for me… he finds groceries that I can’t get from Save-On-Foods… he collects items I need to keep the fish happy… plants and bird seed have been delivered… and mail sent… he has also brought his brother over to mow and shovel…

on the few occasions that I needed to drive somewhere, he has brought the car for me and then picked it up when I was done…

today he came by with a few hard-to-find items including flowers, and then moved some planters for me…

he collected the summer tires, we visited for a while, planned a time when he will bring the shoveler over, and off he went…

I am blessed;-)…

as I’ve been walking the figure-eight pattern in the living and dining room I’ve been thinking of my beloved…

he walked the same pattern as he recovered from his heart surgery;-)…

this photo (quite a few iPhones ago) is from one of our walks while he was still in hospital after the surgery…

happily, I have met my step goal every day since mid-January;-)… maybe I will up my goal…

don’t see people for days…

but today it felt like the doorbell kept ringing…

there were two deliveries from the drugstore… they forgot something when they delivered last night and I called this morning to add something else and they sent it separately as the courier was already on the way…

a visit from a sweet friend… we stood outside and chatted for ages;-)…

boys playing hockey on the street… they broke a car window and were looking for the owner… I was very impressed with the fact they didn’t just run, lol…

and finally, my grandson dropping off groceries… he had dinner while we visited…

I knew he was coming, so yesterday I made his favourite red curry lentils… got 6 containers out of the recipe… I had one last night, he had one while he was here, and took home the remaining four…

my grandson came over to shovel today… and pick up a few woodworking tools for his online woods class…

just before he arrived I watched a couple of bunnies eating on the deck…

it was much easier to clean up the snow as it was fairly fresh… the last time it was a few weeks before he was able to get here, mainly due to the crazy cold we went through…

today, he was dropped off and wasn’t picked up for a few hours, so after he finished shovelling, he came inside and we had a visit… we sat as far as possible from one another in the living room and both wore masks…

I learned about his classes and what he has been up to, as well as how he is planning to make money in the future…

we talked about how he will go about taking drivers Ed in these strange times, and it is hard to believe that he will be driving this summer;-)…

it was lovely to spend time with him, even just sitting playing on our phones, lol…

he was picked up, the tools were gathered into the vehicle, and off they went…

looking forward to seeing what he makes…

busy day yesterday…

in the morning I attached the Philip’s lightstrip that I got for Christmas from my grandsons… I had played with it a bit the day before…

I am pleased with how it turned out…

moved around more plants and made a meal that needs to sit for a day…

after that I finished with making a dozen cards from the watercolour painting I’ve been doing…

felt very accomplished, lol…

my middle grandson brought me a beautiful picture that he made in woodworking class at school last year…

it is a blue jay made from different woods… he did a great job… my beloved would have been very proud…

I’ve put it on the credenza in the dining room… will need to decide if I will leave it there or not…

this morning I learned something new… well, a few things, lol… I wanted to watch my daughter in a Live on Instagram, and thought I would watch it on my laptop…

searched the internet and discovered I could download an app from the Microsoft Store so that I would be able to…

downloaded it, but of course there were no Lives happening in my feed and the time to watch was getting closer… by then I had both my phone and the app open, to be sure I wouldn’t miss it… just before she was to come on, someone else started a Live and I could see it on the computer screen… yay…

happily watched the presentation and then decided that I would follow the directions to make a pocket for the back of my Chocolate Notebook…

went to my chocolate bar box and looked for a wrapper to use… I don’t have many bars just now and no empty wrappers because I send them to my daughter who uses them for a number of things…

I found a Soma Twinkle Bar that I love and decided to use the back of the wrapper… it has the saying “travelling without moving” which seemed perfect, especially these days… I enjoy everything from Soma and not long ago put in an order with a friend to help with the shipping costs…

I put the washi tape into a regular scotchtape dispenser and it worked perfectly…

used mountain scape washi tape to go around the wrapper on the three sides, following the directions provided by Genevieve and then I added tape across the top, on the wrapper only, so that it looked framed!

it was fun to find a new way to see Instagram, although a bit stressful with the timing… and fun to make something…

had a quiet Valentine’s Day…

my daughter called early as she was in a line waiting for heart shaped doughnuts in Ottawa, lol…

I watched sports and a movie, and spent a little time playing with watercolours…

my grandson stopped by with a few groceries… and he brought me flowers;-)…

what a treat…

made a delicious lobster sauce which I had with shrimp and crab ravioli for my supper…

I always put sweetener and evaporated milk in my tea… usually the can goes into the fridge, but yesterday I poured my evaporated milk into a container as the can had a dent from being dropped as it was brought up to the house, lol…

the container came from Atlanta when we were there in 2016 to see the Chihuly Exhibit… we went to a Farmers Market and I picked up a chocolate drink in it… it was tasty…

lovely to remember the fun we had;-)…

it also reminded me of our camping trips over the last few years… well, not last year…

keeping my milk in the jar saved spills in the cooler, not that that ever happened;-)…

fun to remember the history of items in the house…

had a bit of fun today decorating the house with hearts…

put them in the dining room, living room, bathroom, den and on the stairway…

I miss my beloved… he always made Valentine’s Day special, with flowers, treats and a delicious dinner…

I’ve been looking at meals from restaurants in an effort to support local, but they are all more food than I want, so I am planning on lobster ravioli with lobster sauce for my dinner with a salad…

should be fun;-)…
