this morning I was happy to discover two blooms on one of the morning glories…
that encouraged me to do some seeding for the garden…
I had decided not to do any, but felt a need to start morning glories so they can begin blooming earlier…
I cut toilet paper rolls in half, then cut slits at one end, folded them and put a piece of tape across the bottom…
then I put all of those into a spinach clamshell, filled them with soil, and dropped a few seeds into each one… I also planted three of them with grape tomatoes…
watered each one and closed the clamshell…
now for the waiting game… and we won’t mention the snow that was falling as I wrote this, sigh…
not long ago I wrote about all the bunny tracks in the fresh snow and wondering if it was one busy bunny or many…
a few nights ago, as I was starting to get out of the hot tub – I was feeling a bit lonely without my recent companion – I watched four little bunnies shoot through the gate beside the hot tub, hop down the path and across to the far corner of the garden…
and then they raced around the garden, onto the deck and up and down the snowbanks before hopping past me a few more times…
they were having a blast and so was I;-)…
once I came in, I spotted another one out the front window on the front sidewalk…
on one of our daytime hot tubs, while my company was here, we spotted an eagle soaring above us… today a program on tv talked about an eagle birdcam on Gabriela Island, which reminded me…
it is very rare to spot one around here… the last time I remember seeing one was when I was in the hall at the university of Winnipeg as we were preparing for a work event…
unfortunately we didn’t have our phones, but here is the spot in the sky where we saw it…
tonight I took a photo of a big bird flying past, lol…
these ones come by quite often, and are much noisier…
looked out the window after yesterday’s snow and spotted many tracks…
not sure if it is just one bunny or many, many bunnies, lol…
throughout the day carrot chunks vanished from the deck… got some photos of the visitors… no idea how many, but it sure was fun to spot them whenever I was in the kitchen…
I opened the patio door without any blockage from snow… yay… and left it open for most of the day… still going to be a while before I can sit out there…
the sun was shining, the birds were singing and the snow was melting…
added chemicals to the hot tub, which I haven’t done for ages as it has been so cold, the tub had been covered in snow, and there was no space for the covers to opens…
every time I went out to add the chemicals, I kicked some of the snow on the path so it could melt…
yesterday I put up a photo on Instagram that showed my Japanese Maple just starting to leaf out… this picture below came up in my Google Photos today showing the same tree two years ago… made me laugh because it is so different, lol…
the good news is that it is starting…
and obviously, I should have put it up today, on St. Patrick’s Day, when we are all Irish;-)…
at the bottom of the tree, shamrocks have been growing since the first summer it went outside and the shamrock plant jumped into the pot…
