Monday I walked over to the Park Cafe wearing my new weighted gloves…

they are purple and kind of cute, lol…

I popped them into my vest while we were there and couldn’t believe how heavy it was when I lifted it to put it back on before heading out…

after a quick tour of the English and Leo Mol Gardens, which have a beautiful autumn vibe, with orange, yellow, purple, and brown colouring, I walked home with them on…

I am getting used to them…

today I had another wonderful example of great use of technology…

I always think of how privileged I am that I am able to have someone come and clean for me…

the two cleaners arrived right on time and asked me to wait when I started to speak to them about what needed to be done… I was told “no English”…

once they had all their equipment inside, one of them got out their phone and went to Google Translate… then they spoke, I read, I spoke, they read…

how cool is that… they were a husband and wife who came here from Ukraine, where they had been accountants…

it was lovely that we could communicate so well…

finally made it all the way to the English and Leo Mol Gardens…

it was a beautiful day and there were lots of people out and about enjoying the amazing fall day…

as I walked along the path through the trees, I came upon a birder, (he had a camera with a very long lens hanging around his neck) who was feeding chickadees and nuthatches from his hand… he had shelled and unshelled sunflower seeds so they could have a treat right away, but also something to take away and stash, lol…

I stood and watched for a few moments;-)…

here are a few other things that caught my eye;-)…

the gardens look lovely with all the fall blooms and colours…

while I was there, I did collect some Poké balls, lol…

what a delightful walk;-).

between the bits of rain yesterday, I went out and picked the last of the beans…

well, I think it was the last of them… I’ve thought that a few times, lol…

cut them and boiled them up for supper… they were delicious, even if they were a little on the overgrown side…

made zucchini fritters with two lovely zucchinis I got from Jonathan’s Farm…

grated them and wrapped them in a towel to wring out extra moisture…

after they were mixed with egg, cheese, and breadcrumbs, added them to the waffle maker…

came out nicely, although they could have used a bit of flour, which I decided to leave out…

I will make these again;-)…

went for another walk around the neighbourhood… it was a bit cool and windy, but the sun was shining so it was enjoyable… hoping to get back into a regular routine, lol…

took another book to drop off at the Little Library and while I was there I picked up two to bring home to read…

good exercise carrying them as I walked;-)…

Monday and Tuesday night I went out and covered the mandevilla as there was a chance of frost…

it looks like the rest of the week will be warmer so rather than start the process of bringing the plant in, it seemed better to protect it and keep it outside for the next week…

it has been filled with blooms and looks wonderful… unfortunately, once it comes into the house the unopened buds will likely fall off…

but, it looked a lot like a ghost in the garden…

we moved into this house in September of 1973… 50 years ago:-)…

this is rather astonishing to me, lol…

early on, there was a lot of red everywhere, inside and out… then we went to some light pink, gray, and finally to touches of purple…

the garden started out as a grassed square, then a space for a kid swing set, a small pool, a giant sandbox, a two story playhouse, and then plants and ponds…

so many changes, so many memories;-)…

what a life…

finally went for a walk a week ago…

took a few books and dropped them off at a Little Library…

on my walk I got a few nice photos…

this flower bed had purple in it and on the planter and behind is a purple picnic table;-)…

didn’t go all the way to the Park, but want to get back into the habit, so decided to start small…

felt good;-)…
