Tuesday we went to aquasize as my buddy had an appointment on Thursday…

from there we drove to Oak Bluff, where we had lunch at Roxy’s Restaurant & Lounge… I was very excited to find battered mushrooms on the menu, so we started with those… and they were delicious;-)… then I had a tasty beef dip with Caesar salad… the service was excellent, the food good and it was a nice spot…

onward to Carman where we visited the Golden Prairie Arts Council to see an exhibition by Connie Bart Hamel which was filled with a variety of mediums… she is very talented and a neighbour of my friend…

we stopped at Syl’s for ice cream and had a lovely drive home in the sunshine…

wonderful day;-)…

had a bit of fun in the garden Monday…

there was a chill in the air, but we were able to install the arch in the side garden, and then I put up the trellises on the planter boxes…

the arch fits perfectly and it will be exciting to see what will grow up and over the path;-)…

while I was outside I managed to get the slinky back on the bird feeder pole and flipped the water barrel over…

started the day planting some tomato seeds and trying again with the datura, which hadn’t started a single sprout…

we will see if there are any sprouts this time… maybe one day it will be warm enough to plant outside, lol…

so happy today…

after three months we were all together again… in person… what a treat;-)…

it had me thinking of the various places our group has taken part from for our gatherings…

over the last twenty years, a few spots in British Columbia, Minneapolis, Ontario, and even here in Winnipeg…

from using borrowed business speaker phones, to Skype and Zoom on computers, to most recently FaceTime…

and as times have changed, we have moved with them;-)…

my sofa had a blanket on it for most of the winter…

when the weather changed, I used the back of the handmade quilt produced by my friends on it…

the reason for the covering involves two pillows I have put on the sofa so that it isn’t so deep…

now I’ve used two pillowcases and pinned them to the back cushions…

think I like it…

miraculously…

had a lovely day yesterday…

started with an early morning hot tub as the sun shone… then had pie for breakfast…

there were phone calls, text messages, visits, it was great and a DQ blizzard miraculously appeared;-)…

I spent time reading, napping, and watching a few programs…

we had steak and lobster for supper and I didn’t even have to clean up;-)…

my kids gave me another subscription for eight bouquets this summer… I loved the ones last summer… and this afternoon flowers arrived to brighten the dull day…

all in all, a pretty fine few days…

birthday week’s are fun;-)…

Monday another hole was made in the sky…

first thing in the morning a number of trucks filled up the street…

they were there to cut down one of the elm trees… I hadn’t realized that it had been marked…

it took four hours to get it down to the stump… and then they left… about an hour later a few of them returned and ground it down to nothing…

amazing how complicated the process is… it was interesting to watch…

as the birthday week celebrations continue, today I gathered with my BS buddies and they brought the birthday bag, a beautiful card, and cherry pie…

we have used the birthday bag for maybe twenty years… found this old photo from 2014 that has the bag in it, lol…

it used to hold a gift, but at this point in our lives we really don’t need anything, so now it contains a card…

this one was a beautiful painting by one of our group… it is a park bench and represents the bench that my beloved and I would sit on in the Leo Mol Garden during our walks…

happy birthday was sung and we had cherry pie with whipped cream… sooooo delicious;-)…

lots of conversation, laughs, and good eats…

now to be sure I don’t lose the bag before it is needed for the next birthday…
