dug out an old watering jug so that I could set the vase of flowers into it and fill it with water so the floral foam inside the vase could soak up all the water it needed…
took a while, but after half an hour or so I was able to get it out with a bit of finagling…
it is amazingly difficult to add fresh water to the container every day, lol…

walked to and from the “A” on Sunday morning…
it took a bit longer than usual as it was icy so the walking was a bit treacherous…
but it gave me the opportunity to get a few photos of the beautiful trees…
happy to get outside and enjoy the fresh air…

this anniversary of my beloved’s death has been harder than usual…
not sure if it is having someone else in the house, going through so many boxes and letting go of things… maybe it’s been seeing his writing on papers as I’ve sorted through files… maybe it is realizing I’ve been without him for a quarter of the time we were together…
you’d think after eleven years it would be less difficult…
whatever the reason, I’ve been struggling…

got a call from the florist Friday, advising they had a delivery for me…
not long after, the doorbell rang and a parcel was handed to me…
when I removed the packaging, I found a beautiful purple vase filled with flowers… what a treat…
they were from the kids in Ottawa… to celebrate my beloved… today will mark eleven years since he left us…
time has flown by and barely moved…
I am going to enjoy these beautiful flowers and take many, many, photos of them as I remember all the wonderful times we had together…
I have been, and continue to be, blessed…

found my way back into the computer room to continue the tidy up…
filled boxes with giveaway items, put things into the garbage, and filled a container with recycling…
pleased with the continued progress and have actually been enjoying the process…

for weeks now the side door to the garage has been stuck shut… kind of like the doorknob was frozen…
while we were working in the basement, there was lots of garbage which we ended up putting into the garage until the bin was empty… having to go through the side gate and then the main garage door was a pain…
yesterday I talked with my neighbour in the lane and mentioned the problem so today he came by and helped me remove the knob… fairly simple when you know how, lol…
now I will know for next time;-)…
so, a bungee cord will be the fastener for the next while… and, apparently a new door is in the future…

happy that I finally got a nice photo of the cute new little white orchids…
have had the plant for a few weeks now, but just couldn’t get a nice shot of a single bloom…
looks cute on the living room table along with the other new orchid and two little grape hyacinths which have just started to scent the air;-)…
and the new display in the table looks nice as well… some of my rock collection from Goose Spit with a few crystals thrown in;-)…

was on my way downstairs to go out to the hot tub on Friday and heard a loud noise… looked out the window to see one of the two hardcovers laying on the ground… not attached to either side of the tub…
it had slipped out of my grandson’s hands and, in the very cold weather, broke both arms that hold it on…
luckily, after we soaked for a while the two of us were able to set it back where it belonged… no single person hot tubs until it gets repaired, lol, as it will take two of us to open and close the cover…
happily Krevco had some arms available…
we will wait for a warm day to empty the tub, move it to install the arm closest to the house, put it back, connect the second arm, and refill the tub…
