dinner and the theatre… well, more like lunch and the theatre, lol…

tried out PF Changs before we went to PTE…

it is a nice spot although a bit loud… we were treated to a dynamite shrimp cocktail while we waited for our lunch… it was delicious…

we ordered and shared two items… Crispy Honey Shrimp and Kung Pow Brussels sprouts… both were good…

there was an issue with our bill but the manager was able to sort it out and offered us a dessert the next time we go…

from there it was off to PTE, where we saw Ghost Light… it was very well done with a minimal set… it was both funny and poignant…

I do enjoy our theatre dates;-)…

had the best time watching the videos we took when we were in Maui…

gave the card, from the GoPro we rented, to my daughter when we came home and just got my copy when I was in Ottawa…

spent quite some time trying to get photos from the videos and eventually found the option to save a single frame as a picture;-)… that was entertaining…

the smile on my face says it all… snorkelling was such fun and being in the giant aquarium with the fish and turtles was amazing;-)…

such a lovely reminder of the wonderful time we had in and under the water…

also, there were photos that my daughter took of me on the stand-up paddle board…

need to spend a bit more time working on balance…

such wonderful memories;-)…

I finally installed the Nest Hub I received as a Christmas present… it is on my bedside table and now it also acts as a clock and photo album…

I am learning to speak more softly as my friend Hey Google, is right beside me…

for quite a while I couldn’t figure out why there was still a big G in the middle… the one in the kitchen (which my grandson installed) didn’t have that… went in and reviewed all the set up info but no help!

then I realized it was the plastic cover for the screen, lol…

and of course I had to rearrange other pieces… the salt lamp moved to where the Mini had been and then the Mini moved into the computer room…

and they all connected and worked properly… yay…

today my new electrician came over and hooked up the tp-link light switch that I’ve had for ages… the process included going to HomeDepot to get another switch and faceplate cover, finding the correct connection on the electrical panel, replacing the switches and closing it all back up… he also checked and discovered that I can put a switch in the kitchen, but not the dining room…

so I am happy to report that now the bathroom light can be turned on and off with Google Home… will need to do a bit of drywall repair…

I am thrilled;-)…

went out on a shopping expedition today with a friend…

checked out the Fromagerie Bothwell on Provencher… I thought it was just a cheese store, but it isn’t… it has all manner of other locally produced goodies as well… I picked up some De Luca’s pasta sauce, a pepperoni and cheese snack, soft goat cheese, and some of their marble cheese…

from there we went along the street to Chocolatier Constance Popp where I picked up some coconut dark chocolate macaroons (delicious), a sugar-free bar, a coconut and lime bar and finally a Manitobar to send to my daughter… that was fun…

back to St. James to check out Winners/Homesense… found a number of items which had been on my shopping list for a while… a cute little backpack, thermal socks, salt for my grinder, a soap dish, a lemon squeezer and a small container for my bedside table…

great fun…

spent some time reorganizing the container area in the kitchen cupboards…

still trying to figure out the best system, lol… thought I had a perfect plan…

also made a few things in the Instant Pot… mashed potatoes worked well…

sadly, the pork hocks and cabbage didn’t turn out, but then I used the crockpot feature and got it done;-)…

more learning and experimenting required…

one of the reasons I went shopping on Sunday was to get flowers…

it is that season again when I really need them to brighten the atmosphere in the house… it is also a time when I particularly miss my beloved…

he always made sure I had flowers all the time during these cold and dreary months… and all over the house…

I can see and smell them in every room;-)…

Friday I received a parcel in the mail…

in it was the cutest handmade keychain…

a gift from my daughter… she is planning to send me something regularly throughout the year — instead of an Advent calendar that just comes in December;-)…

how lovely is that…

I love all the pieces it is made of, but the little bird is a reminder of the wonderful morning we spent at Mer Bleue feeding the chickadees…

my goal for the Spring is to train my chickadees to eat from my hand… this is a wonderful reminder…

I am very excited to get working on this…

for the last few days I haven’t been eating all that well…

not sure exactly why… there is food available, but I’ve been uninterested in eating it…

I’ve been kind of eating out of the fridge… had leftover spaghetti and meat sauce, made fried rice with leftover chicken, spinach and scrambled eggs…

last night I had bacon and mushrooms… it was a meal that we had when I was young… always on toast… I rarely have bread in the house, but last night I tossed some croutons in… it was a perfect addition;-)…

today I made a lovely wonton and mushroom soup for lunch, and roasted chicken with cauliflower, sweet and baby potatoes for supper…

hopefully I am over the eating drought…

Monday I wandered around the living and dining rooms taking photos of the plants in the sunlight…

it was shining so beautifully on the jungle of plants that are filling the space… the furniture and even the purple snowflakes in the window were just beautiful;-)…

I’ve being paying close attention when it is shining to be sure to enjoy the light…

what a glorious time… sunshine is so energizing…
