had a lovely evening with half of my BS buddies…

one was home feeling a bit under the weather and the other is on a road trip out west…

the conversation moved from vacation plans… to furniture… to family gatherings… to things we were up to…

besides great conversation we were treated to a delicious snack… homemade fudgy oatmeal bars… I think that was the name…

and I only had one piece;-)…

the kids came for supper tonight… we had a delicious beef roast with roasted potatoes and carrots, and a Caesar salad…

then we jumped in the cars and went to try out Rollesque Roll Up Ice Cream… it is right beside my favourite Vietnamese restaurant;-)…

it was quite a show… they chop up the main ingredient, then they pour cream onto the cold metal tray… they move it around, flatten it and then roll it into fat tubes… pop it into a container, add whipped cream, a few toppings, and voila… a delicious treat;-)…

I chose coconut bliss which had coconut cream, teddy grahams, couple of rolled cookies and some chocolate sauce…

and my daughter treated us all…

our walk through the English and Leo Mol Gardens was lovely…

it was cool and overcast but it was nearly empty… hardly anyone else in the entire space…

fabulous to get a bit of exercise and spend time catching up…

it looked like one of the statues was holding up the scaffolding, lol… had to work a bit to get a photo that wasn’t too risqué… looking forward to seeing what changes will be made…

easy to spot our bench, but it looks a bit dull… well, the whole place looks that way…

fun to take pictures with my new camera and see how the plants are preparing for winter…

pleased to finally make it to the Gardens… sorry that it has been so long and I have missed all the Fall beauty

very happy that we got through the walk without any mist…

this morning I started my day at the clinic doing bloodwork before my next appointment…

on my way back to the car I kept having to stop and watch the geese flying overhead… I cannot keep from looking up when I hear them honking

then I met up with my walking buddy… we had breakfast at The Park Cafe, and noticed that all the geese that usually spend time in the pond were off filling up somewhere else, lol… afterward we wandered through the English and Leo Mol Gardens which are rather sad just now but it was great to be outside…

I dropped her off and we checked out her newly renovated garden… as I was leaving I got this pic of a neighbour’s Halloween decorations;-)…

when I arrived home, had a lovely visit with one of my neighbours… haven’t been outside at the same time for ages so it was great to catch-up… they usually spend a few months at their property in Arizona but with health issues they can’t get insurance so will be selling… they do have a winterized cottage just outside the city, so will spend time there…

seems like we have to adapt quite a bit as we get older…

early morning… beautiful sky… changed every few minutes as I drove downtown…

saw dozens of geese flying low overhead… what an amazing sight… and a wonderful way to start the day…

had a smoothie for breakfast, butternut squash soup for lunch and ended the day with a late supper of jumbo shrimp and wild rice… healthy and tasty…

good way to start off my weekend;-)…

today was Election Day…

was at the polling station ten minutes before it opened as I was trying to vote and get to work on time…

when I arrived I checked my information to be sure I was at the correct location because there wasn’t a single car in the lot or any signs… at five to the cars started to pull in and filled the parking pad… shortly after that a person came out and put up a sign advising that this was a polling station…

waited until 8:01, only to discover about 15 people lined up inside… the door didn’t open for another few minutes… often the first people are guinea pigs as the various workers figure what to do, sigh… bit of that this morning…

finally got out and headed to work… would have been on time except for the lights all flashing red along Portage…

miss my beloved on days like this… voting was something we always did together…

spent part of the day yesterday trying to find someone to clean up the leaves in the yard… eventually I hired my son-in-law who came today and raked everything up… then he put away all of the lawn furniture… looks great…

also trying to find a snow-clearing company as my grandson who has been doing the snow removal for the last few years is now busy with university and work and not available…

of three places I contacted, two were already filled up for the winter…

I have received a quote from the third place and will be in touch with a few questions…

hoping that it all works out because I don’t need to be worrying about snow when it starts falling, lol…

so excited to pick up my new camera on Friday… the old one died while we were camping this summer and I have been missing it tremendously… decided not to have it repaired again as it would be expensive and I had already had it repaired three or four times… made more sense to put that money towards a newer model…

was hoping to make it to Christmas to buy one but Thursday night I was at an event and was very disappointed in my pictures…

so Friday I went and purchased this one… it is basically the same model, only upgraded

many things are similar but there are nuances that I am going to have to study up on, lol…

I’ve been able to connect it to my phone to download pictures but haven’t figured out how to use my phone to depress the shutter button…

there is a new automatic setting that adds effects and I really want to understand a few of the other settings…

it connects to my phone or computer via wifi, the screen moves to make taking pictures easier and it has a better zoom function…

looking forward to delving into all the details

early this morning I walked to and from La Belle Baguette to pick up some bread…

the sun was in my eyes on the way there as I walked past the park between Amherst and Sackville at Ness…

on my way home I stopped and got a few pictures of the construction… no changes have happened in this playground for thirty years or so that I can remember…

it is going to be exciting to see what the final area is going to look like…

today I emptied and refilled the hot tub after my grandson arrived to move the tub a tiny bit before it was refilled…

when we replaced the arm on the hot tub a while ago, we moved it out a bit which meant that I couldn’t open one side of the cover without opening the gate… bit of a pain on a cold night…

it takes about 3 hours to empty and about half an hour to fill…

waiting now to see how long it will take to get up to the correct temperature
