last week I received my first (and possibly only) Christmas card…
made me think of the cards I’ve received over the years… as it happens we sent very few cards, lol…
I am always so impressed with those who take the time to write cards and/or letters…
what a treat when one turns up;-)…

I’ve been watching the amaryllis that I purchased in early November…
it is now in the sleigh with some of the snow people and it seems to be doing okay… I added some of the solar lights in and around the melt (group of snow people)… I kind of like it…
both of the little babies on the sides of the main bulb have started to shoot up, and even the original bulb is starting to have a bit of green peek out…

Facebook reminded me that yesterday commemorated my last day of work six years ago… it was a special and fun day…
I spent the day saying farewell to my colleagues and had lunch out with a former colleague…
surprising to think that so much time has passed… and how much I have enjoyed these past years of retirement;-)…

it was very cold this morning 🥶…
it looked beautiful outside with everything covered in fresh snow…
I waited until around 10 to go out and blow the snow off the front steps and sidewalk so that it would be clear for the mail carrier…
today, I did not clear a path through the grass to the neighbours’ house… it was too cold;-(…
the sun was shining, but the wind kept blowing the snow back up at me, covering my leggings, my jacket, and my boots…
I was happy that I’d left my glasses in the house as my face also received a lot of blowing snow on it, lol…
I do believe that winter has arrived… even if it isn’t December 21st… feels like the sundogs are showing it;-)…

so happy that my volunteer shift went until six…
got to see the new display when it was completely dark outside…
and the new hanging lights add such a delightful effect…
it is beautiful in the day, but if you have the opportunity to see it at night as well, go for it…

got up early Saturday morning to watch the final F1 Qualifying of the season…
there is great excitement as these three were all in the hunt for the Driver Championship…
up a few minutes before to get a pot of tea ready, and then snuggled back into bed to watch the action…
watching live is much more fun than the PVRed version, although I do tape them to be sure to be able to see them if anything comes up and I miss the live show…

and spent time finding snowflakes along the stair rail…

recently I purchased a few pairs of wide leg pants…
of course they had to go to be shortened…
it only took a few minutes for them to be pinned…
one of the pairs is cargo pants… I am excited to have them for volunteering… it will be great to have a few more pockets to pop things into, lol…
just got them back and they look great…
excited to wear them at my next volunteer shift at The Leaf;-)…

went to Shelmerdine with a friend to pick up some items from a fundraiser she was connected with…
always a treat to wander through all the areas of the greenhouse… even found a little something for someone’s next year’s Christmas present…
this planter was so pretty and the balls were so nice, especially with the snow on them…
when I got home I hung the swag that came from the fundraiser on the front door… not sure if the cord needs to be shorter…
lovely treat;-)…
