first one was my little circle tour… on the way home I had to walk partway down a different street to admire a very large Halloween display, across from a school…
the second was to go to Silver Heights IDA for my covid and flu shots… had to wait a few minutes while others were looked after, but then in a flash, it was done and I was on my way home…
we disconnected the hose at the tap, undid the three connections to the pond, irrigation system, and hose (which was then hooked up in the laundry room for the winter)… still have to blow out the irrigation lines…
then I spent quite awhile digging out the three dahlias and repotting the begonia… will see if it will act like a houseplant over the winter…
put the dahlias in an empty pot and will leave them in the garage for a few more days to dry out before relocating them into the basement…
moved pots off the steps and deck… that big pot was interesting to move, but I got it done… once the garage has been tidied up the obelisk will move there…
then I spent a few hours reading in the afternoon sunshine;-)…
happy to have accomplished more of the “w” prep, lol…
first stop was the Little Library I usually stop at… when I was last there, there were only a few books, so I went through some of mine and filled a backpack to drop off…
I also included a couple of the extra bookmarks I made last Christmas…
from there I walked to the Post Office to drop a package in the mail and on my way back stopped into Ultracuts for a haircut…
since my last visit, I may have taken the scissors to my hair a few times, lol… didn’t take long, or really that much hair being snipped, to look tidy again…
as I walked home, I stopped and collected some morning glory seeds from the outside of a fence… these flowers are a lighter purple…
I’ve been watching them for a while, waiting for the pods to be ready for picking;-)…
just spent a delightful hour with Dr. Jane Goodall…
well, she was on stage at the Royal Botanical Gardens Canada, and I was on the couch in the living room;-)…
she is a wonderful story teller and kept the audience, and me, enchanted…
from her earliest years, with a mother who supported her desire to know everything about animals, to her building of the Jane Goodall Institute, her life has been filled with spirit and a thirst to know more…
she has focused on chimpanzees, people and the environment…
so happy that I came upon this talk as I was scrolling through IG today…
people, there is hope, but we need to work at it, together;-)…
