dug out an old watering jug so that I could set the vase of flowers into it and fill it with water so the floral foam inside the vase could soak up all the water it needed…
took a while, but after half an hour or so I was able to get it out with a bit of finagling…
it is amazingly difficult to add fresh water to the container every day, lol…

walked to and from the “A” on Sunday morning…
it took a bit longer than usual as it was icy so the walking was a bit treacherous…
but it gave me the opportunity to get a few photos of the beautiful trees…
happy to get outside and enjoy the fresh air…

got a call from the florist Friday, advising they had a delivery for me…
not long after, the doorbell rang and a parcel was handed to me…
when I removed the packaging, I found a beautiful purple vase filled with flowers… what a treat…
they were from the kids in Ottawa… to celebrate my beloved… today will mark eleven years since he left us…
time has flown by and barely moved…
I am going to enjoy these beautiful flowers and take many, many, photos of them as I remember all the wonderful times we had together…
I have been, and continue to be, blessed…

happy that I finally got a nice photo of the cute new little white orchids…
have had the plant for a few weeks now, but just couldn’t get a nice shot of a single bloom…
looks cute on the living room table along with the other new orchid and two little grape hyacinths which have just started to scent the air;-)…
and the new display in the table looks nice as well… some of my rock collection from Goose Spit with a few crystals thrown in;-)…

thanks to a suggestion from a friend, we picked up some porcelain filler for the stove and basement pedestal sink…
after sanding, painting, re-sanding, and drying a number of times, the stove looks great… can’t spot the fix unless you get real close and know where to look…
sadly, I forgot to get a before picture…
the sink is taking a bit more time…
but coming along nicely…

when the MTS people were here the other day, they replaced the remote for the bedroom tv…
the good news is that now I won’t need to press my finger through the remote to make some of the actions happen, lol…
at the last minute they mentioned that the new remote didn’t turn the tv on or off, or change the volume…
really 🤪…
the good news is that Google Home can turn it on and off and change the volume level…

another few projects got taken care of…
the wooden bird picture that my middle grandson gave me about a year ago has finally made it onto the wall… we had to pick up wire to use as it is heavy and the usual fishing line wasn’t going to hold it up…
looks great and I am so proud of him as he did a good job of making it…
then we put a new sweep on the bottom of the back door so that cold air isn’t flowing down into the basement… bit of a process, but it was finally complete… better than it was, for sure…
a strip of carpet got cut and repositioned so that feet won’t be on concrete on the way to the bathroom, lol…
the final piece of work was cutting and installing a tile over the light in the bathroom…
a lot of work got done;-)… I am blessed…

so happy that my friend, Hilda the gardener, came by last Friday for a drink, visit, and a haircut…
we spent a lovely hour chatting and laughing about life in general and gardens in particular…
then she dealt with the overgrown mess that was my hair, lol…
looks and feels so much better now;-)…
