time to update the living room table…

I decided on sarongs in each square and then books from various trips for me to enjoy during this birthday month…

ran the sarongs through the wash to get rid of any wrinkles and then filled in the squares… went with purple and orange… purple for me, and orange for my daughter, with whom I went on many of the trips, lol…

looks bright and fresh and I have lots of special moments to enjoy;-)…

I’ve been trying to note how long I am out in the hot tub each night, so I take a screenshot of the time as I leave the house and another once I come in…

tonight I made it out to the hot tub in time to watch the Space Station fly over… I haven’t seen it for quite a while…

this time, as it came over the house it was a bright light, but about halfway across the open space above me it started to dim and then it vanished…

it has done this before and I wonder if it is rotating a bit and then doesn’t have the sun shining on it…

it always makes me happy to see it, especially on such a beautiful evening…

Spring flowers bring me so much joy…

on Sunday I picked up some daffodils for the house… as well as a bouquet for the office, a pot of mini roses and the cutest plant covered in blue flowers…

yesterday afternoon we had daffodils delivered at the office as part of the Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign...

this was how they looked at 4:30 yesterday…

here is how they looked at 8:30 am this morning…

open and sunshiny…

nice when a campaign raises funds and brightens people’s days…

having gone through a cancer diagnosis, I appreciate every opportunity to support the cause…

day started sunny, but cold… then mid morning it started to snow…

the sun was back as we headed home…

the sunlight in the dining room shone on the bunnies…

although one of my grandsons said the wire one looked like a bird on Sunday, lol…

in the living room the flowers shone…

sunlight and shadows are so beautiful…

really happy to have the next four days off…

yesterday morning I had a bit of fun taking pictures of the sun rising in the sky…

this is what it looked like at 7:24 as the sun was just peeking out through the trees…

then this as 7:49…

this was the last of the series that I took, at 9:09…

so beautiful and such a change when you look out the window at different times…

it was out for most of the day and even though it was cold and windy it felt great…

that bit of extra light and bright sky makes such a difference in my mood…

started out the morning with a bit of rain early and as I was leaving for work it stopped, but I got some great shots of the hibiscus…


a colleague mentioned she had taken a picture of a double rainbow last night… I was looking to the west and she was looking to the east about the same time I think… I got shots of cool cloud formations, lol…

tonight I looked out the window to see the brightest rainbow I’ve seen in a long time…


picture doesn’t do it justice… it was so bright…

went to another window a few minutes later and saw the whole rainbow…

had to take two pictures to get it all in…


and then it was gone…

what a treat… makes the frequent rain more bearable…

had to stop as I was backing out of the driveway this morning to take a picture of the glittering snow… so white, bright, shiny and clean looking…

  
lovely start to the day…

when I returned to the house I noticed two things… huge amounts of snow had melted throughout the day… here is the top of the deck just a few days ago…

the sun shone with great strength all day… really noticed it on the drive home as there were many puddles and the snow banks had gone down a lot…

the final piece was in the bathroom… the cleaners come the first Monday of the month and they always fold the toilet paper like you are in a hotel…

  
I had prepared for them, but with the busyness of the day totally forgot they’d been here until I walked into the house and noticed how clean it was…

what a treat…

this morning the sun looked very strange in the sky…

  
it was orange with a halo around it…

most of the poppies were blooming… all at the same time… think there might be one left…

  
made sure to get some photos because they often barely last a day…

 
leaving the driveway I got a picture of the front flower bed… looks nice after all my work on Saturday…

I picked two beautiful purple irises to take to the office…

 
they are beautiful and brighten up my space…

as the day went on the light outside changed and it looked as though the sun was covered by fog, which turned out to be smoke…

this morning I noticed how bright out it was on my drive to work… yay…

then, part way through the morning the sun came streaming through a colleague’s window and landed on her tulips… just gorgeous…



all of them have perked up since yesterday and look amazing… they have certainly brightened my day…

spent a wonderful few minutes wandering around the office taking pictures… I haven’t had a chance to look the shots over yet, but I had great fun… there were lots of tulips to check out…

flowers do make me happy…

another sunshiny day…

stayed in for breakfast… felt like –41 Celsius outside…

went out for lunch with a friend and his three children… busy, lol…

one of my gifts was a light that I can turn on with an app on my iPhone… besides white, it can also turn any colour I’d like… guess which colour I’ve made it so far…
