as I was walking home last night I stopped by the creek and watched the mallard couple for quite a while…
they were swimming up and down the creek calmly…
was so busy enjoying the moment that I didn’t take any photos…
but I have this one from last week, when a mallard popped out of the water at the Duck Pond…

cute, eh…

had to run and get my camera this morning when I saw these squirrels… one was running up a telephone pole and the other was standing at attention on the peak of the roof…
after work I walked over to the Park and watched some Ultimate… had a lovely visit with a friend and on my way home stopped to smell the air in a few spots where the lilacs were blooming… it was wonderful…
got a nice shot of one of the Duck Pond fountains… different angle…

also came across this little manicured garden by the Pavilion… took a few moments to breathe in the peace…

the Canada geese are gathering and preparing to head south…
yesterday they were everywhere when I was at the Park…
these ones were at the Duck Pond… this is the most I’ve seen here all year…
as I was watching the game I would hear the geese honking and look up in most any direction and see them leaving in droves…
a seagull was on the move as well…
there were a lot of them, possibly because there were food tents… they like to be around food, lol…
last picture of the day were these three geese heading out to find their buddies, calling all the way…
there is just something about the sound of geese that compels me to look up, smile, and listen to the glorious sound…

amazing friends, blessed, donation, Duck Pond, ducks, Memory Stone, stone laid, touched, word puzzle
I have the most amazing friends…
at Christmas I made a donation in their honour and had a memory stone produced… last year Cyndi and Ron had two made and it was just such a lovely gesture…
a colleague at work, who is exceptionally good with words, helped me to get the wording just right… there are only a certain number of lines and a certain number of letters on each line… bit of a puzzle really…
then I sent off the money and wording and waited… I didn’t mention anything to the two groups of women because I wanted it to be a visible surprise for them…
just recently I was thinking that I hadn’t heard anything about when the stone was being laid and the very next day I received an email confirming that it had been installed at the Park by the Duck Pond…
went over and found it very easily… the last ones were quite difficult to find, lol… had a bit of a giggle because of all the stones in the area, it was the only one that had been blessed by the ducks/geese…
took some pictures and sent a note to my friends to let them know where they could see it and letting them know how important they are to me…
don’t know if anyone has seen it in person yet, but many have been quite touched… as was I to be able to do this for them…
