sounds can make me a little crazy when I hear them and can’t figure out what they are…

once I know what they are then I am fine…

recently, whenever I closed the fridge door, this odd clicking sound happened…

I tried a few things but couldn’t figure it out… eventually I realized it was the feet on the little reindeer… as the door closed they moved and banged onto the Advent calendar the small reindeer was sitting on…

once I crossed them, the noise disappeared;-)…

a week or so ago, I cleaned all of the various bits and pieces off the front of the fridge…

put the container with the 24 magnets on it ready for Advent… my daughter sent them to me years ago… they covered two muffin tins and each held a tiny treat as they were opened daily during Advent…

then I put them away carefully🤪… and I didn’t find them until last year, lol… I am happy to use them this year, especially as I still knew where they were…

I think I might start with the 24th and then count back until Christmas;-)…

guess I better turn the magnets around, lol…

this morning I put up the first one…

a parcel arrived from the kids in Ottawa… once I received text permission to open it, I discovered 3 boxes, a package that said it needed to go into the fridge, and a small chocolate bar, lol…

I had fun wrapping them and put purple ribbons on them before adding them to the growing pile under the tree… they are the first gifts for me…

it was funny to wrap my own parcels, but was a reminder of the few times I might have purchased my own gift, wrapped and put it under the tree… although usually those items would go to my beloved and he would wrap them up, lol…

fun memories… nice that now I can mostly look back on them without tears…

got close up and cozy with the fridge freezer this morning… my technique is to use my bathroom stool to sit in front of the fridge while the freezer door is open…

was chilly work, but put like things together and in containers… was a bit surprised with how many little freezer packs I have ;-)…

pleased with the outcome and hopeful that I will remember what went into each of the containers, lol…

had some excellent meals yesterday…

started with an almond croissant and cheese for breakfast… lunch was a delicious chicken, stuffing and cranberry jelly sandwich on La Belle Baguette sourdough bread… ended the day with ham and scalloped potatoes that a dear friend dropped off…

and I made chicken broth from the chicken carcass…

there is still a great variety of leftovers and ready-to-eat items in the fridge;-)…

finally got back to ordering ChefsPlate meals… took the summer off as we were camping a fair bit and there were so many fresh veggies in the Markets…

on Wednesday my first box arrived… I had chosen two meatless options and one beef… filled the fridge up, lol…

life had been very full so I haven’t had an opportunity to make anything until tonight…

chose a delicious Beef Taco Salad… it had watermelon radishes, which were beautiful to look at and tasted a bit spicy… first time I’ve tried them…

happy to have the time to make the meal… it is always fun to follow the directions and see what turns out… saved the second half separately so that nothing will be soggy… just need to combine and eat;-)…

looking forward to a weekend of figure skating on tv…

good thing that I have lunch already prepared for tomorrow…

last night when I got into the house and opened the fridge it was not cold…

I wondered if I hadn’t closed the door, so closed it and left it for awhile… still not cold when I opened the door later… the lights were working but there wasn’t any motor noise…

was able to pull it out from the wall, but not enough to easily get behind it to unplug it… so I had to get a stool and climb over a counter and twist around… 

eventually got it unplugged, but when it was plugged back in, still wasn’t working…

spent a bit of time taking stuff down to the fridge in the basement… so lucky to have that one… good exercise, lol…

now there is a giant white box in the middle of the kitchen that takes up a big portion of the room…

today I did some research and eventually got an appointment for someone to come and check it out tomorrow afternoon…

fingers crossed that it can be fixed…

the sky was lovely this morning… I got a shot of the clouds…

IMG_8661.JPGdid a bit of tidying up while I was waiting for my new stove and fridge…

IMG_8662.JPGthey are not brand new, but new to me… my son-in-law, and his brother, brought them over and put the stove in easily… we weren’t able to replace the glass on top, but hope to do that in the next week or so…

IMG_8663.JPGthe fridge on the other hand was a different story… had to take off the back door to get it into the house… then they had to take off the door in the basement… then they had to take off the two fridge doors… then they had to take off two fasteners at the bottom of the fridge and that was when they ran out of time…

so there is a fridge with no doors in the middle of the basement, waiting to get into the back room and be put back together…
