rather thrilled when I realized that my container filled with extra soil was growing morning glories;-)…

this pot was under the deck and wasn’t getting any water, so they have really toughed it out…

I pulled it out and gave it some water… might even move it up onto the deck so it gets more sunlight…

not sure if they will end up blooming, but I am hopeful…

just a couple of days ago I had a memory on Facebook showing one of my previous year’s blooms…

was thinking of people I’ve known who always seemed to have a dark cloud hanging over them…

feels like that is happening to a few of those in my circles.. lots of struggles and loss…

missing my beloved… this photo reminds me of a place where we would always find peace and serenity together…

working on how best to be present for those struggling…

spent a lot of time with the water lilies in the Gardens… went from one to another, viewing and taking pictures… many of them had tiny frogs sitting on the lily pads…

water has always been important to me and it always draws me in…

wasn’t sure that the two lilies in my pond were going to have flowers, but I remained hopeful…

and this morning I spotted a bud;-)… woo hoo… excited to see the flower…

this morning had a great walk to the Park…

on my way saw a bunny and a gaggle of geese… crossed the street so as not to disturb them… was a bit of a surprise to see them on a sidewalk, but maybe they were checking out the Little Library, lol…

crossing the walking bridge I spotted a brief of pelicans… I think there were nine in total and there was a cormorant with them… it was clearly preening time…

my camera battery quit midway through my walk so I took the rest of the photos with my iPhone… it always makes me giggle when it announces that it is exhausted, lol…

today I seemed to lean toward white…

although I did focus on a few frogs, lol…

a much less crowded visit than the one on Sunday… the one sad thing was that our bench was being watered so I couldn’t sit…

ended the visit checking out the ducks and geese at the Riley Family Duck Pond…

the other night when I got dropped off at home I couldn’t find my house key…

stood at the back of my friend’s vehicle searching through my bag in the dark, dumping everything out, with no success…

they waited while I turned on my iPhone flashlight and headed to the back of the house to dig out the spare key…

brought back lots of emotions because when my beloved died I realized that I couldn’t just call him if I lost or forgot it… found a spot to stash it so I would be safe if I came home without a way to get in…

rather happy I was able to find it as I haven’t needed to use it since I put it in its hiding spot…

it was a bit dirty, but worked;-)…

and the next morning I put it right back to keep me safe…

the Virginia creeper had completely taken over beside the hot tub… the tv room was basically always dark because the window was covered with vines…

I’ve tried to get it trimmed down by others, but timing hasn’t worked…

today I did it myself… put on those big girl pants and climbed onto the edge of the hot tub…

afterwards I went back into my photos to find some I knew were there of my beloved trimming the same area…

these photos were from July 2011… it is always bittersweet when I look through old pictures… fun to see and relive the memories, but missing him at the same time…

unscathed…

had the oddest day…

as I was leaving the house the phone rang… a recording said they were from my credit card company and someone was trying to purchase something that they thought wasn’t a usual thing for me… I could choose 1 to approve it or 2 to cancel the purchase… I hung up the phone…

as soon as I got into the car I called the number on my credit card and spoke with someone who advised that is was a scam and I had done the correct thing…

the weather has been odd all day and coming home from work it seemed like everyone was crazy… drivers were crossing the road in front of me, sliding into spots that weren’t really there, and just acting like there were no rules…

glad when I arrived home unscathed and got to spend a few moments in the garden…

had a fun time in the garden this morning…

when I walked out I frightened the baby bunny, but it came back a bit later for a snack…

and then the squirrels started running around… one was digging in the hibiscus pot… not sure what was going on, but went over and encouraged it to leave, lol…

a gray squirrel and a little red squirrel chased one another all around the garden to decide who got to be at the feeder… the red squirrel won that particular round…

the sparrows were in and out of the pond as they had drinks and baths…

and I spent the longest time waiting patiently for a black swallowtail butterfly, that was flitting around the garden, to land so that I could take a photo… eventually I got a few good shots…

two or three cabbage butterflies fly through the garden on a regular basis, but I’ve yet to catch one sitting still long enough to get a picture…

had a very relaxing day…

slept in a bit… for me, lol… put out the cushions, watered the garden and had breakfast by the pond…

enjoyed all the flowers on the mandevilla and spent time with my book…

while I was reading, I looked up to see this…

the little bunny that I’ve spotted a number of times, but not been able to get a picture of… today it sat by the chair and enjoyed some greens while I took pictures…

when it got too hot to stay outside I came into the house and watched sports on tv and napped…

so sluggish that I ordered my groceries to be delivered tomorrow… really the height of laziness…

started my day in the hot tub… rather quiet as the waterfall is turned off while awaiting repair, lol…

walked to the grocery store; consulted with Hilda the Gardener, who then did some amazing clean-up in the side garden and tidied the main garden; and packed up all my stuff for another few days of camping…

ended the day watching boys jump into the lake from a rather tall rock, which we climbed, and now we sit by the campfire…

did manage to get one flower picture as well;-)…

been a full day… think it might be an early night…
