interruption…

on Monday had a great time in the garden with 3/4 of our BS group…

I had moved the car to the driveway and put chairs into the garage on the chance that rain or a thunderstorm decided to cause an interruption during our gathering… I didn’t rearrange the chairs and put out the cushions until a few minutes before they arrived as the sky was still covered in clouds…

while we visited, we saw a monarch flit about and land on the milkweed flowers… then a baby bunny stopped by…

the sparrows came by for drinks and baths…

and the fish were swimming all around the pond, including at least one of the babies…

the babies move amazingly quickly, and I spent quite a while trying to catch a photo of one of them…

in the end, the sun came out and it got kind of hot, lol… then, about 7:30 pm we had a huge thunderstorm…

strange weather day…

went to the Wolseley Farmers Market with a friend and had a great time…

came home with a bag filled with beans, peas, green onions, a zucchini, baby potatoes, garlic, bread, a mushroom galette, and a beet and pesto treat…

and two gorgeous stalks of purple gladiola;-)…

moved the backyard wifi camera down a bit… also put a shim in so that it points down a touch more…

now it gets a little more of the area in front of the pond… may see critters as they wander past the pond, lol…

getting quite handy with the drill… no trouble to remember how to have it reverse when taking out the screw;-)…

had a sleepout on the deck a few nights ago…

quite a few mosquitoes, so I didn’t go out until around eleven, and by then they were mostly gone… and there were none around in the morning…

this was my cozy little nest…

there weren’t a ton of stars, but the ones I saw were bright…

always fun to go camping, lol… and the washrooms are excellent;-)…

I was standing on the deck when I spotted this baby bunny having a snack near one of the bird feeders…

they completely ignored me as they enjoyed the grass…

the squirrels run right past me when they are chasing one another and ignore me when I am on either of the decks…

apparently I have become just another object in the garden, lol…

and today we caught this red squirrel climbing up the inside of the slinky a couple of times to get to the bird feeder…

sure are smart little devils…

the other day I swept the steps between the pond and back garden so that I could walk along them in my bare feet…

yesterday I noticed that they were covered with dirt again…

today I watched the birds having dirt baths, all the way along the walk, lol…

solved that mystery;-)… and thinking there is no point in sweeping it again…

spent the better part of yesterday and today working on the fish tanks… I’ve been thinking about how far I’ve come from the person who admired the tank, but had no desire to get my hands dirty… that was all for my beloved…

yesterday I used the pump (for emptying the hot tub) to remove the majority of the water that was still in them… then I removed the rocks and scrubbed down the sides… never leave a tank partly filled because the scum on the glass becomes rather difficult to remove, lol…
