sounds can make me a little crazy when I hear them and can’t figure out what they are…

once I know what they are then I am fine…

recently, whenever I closed the fridge door, this odd clicking sound happened…

I tried a few things but couldn’t figure it out… eventually I realized it was the feet on the little reindeer… as the door closed they moved and banged onto the Advent calendar the small reindeer was sitting on…

once I crossed them, the noise disappeared;-)…

crunch…

spent a lovely afternoon in the garden before the rain…

pulled more leaves out of the pond… more are coming down into it every day…

I read and listened to the birds as they crunched through the leaves looking for bugs and seeds… considering how small they are, they made a lot of noise…

flocks of white-throated, song, and house sparrows, as well as pine siskins landed in the grass and around the pond where they would carefully jump from rock to rock to get a drink…

then off they went…

been laughing off and on for days…

all of a sudden, a few days ago, it sounded like the computer was making a noise each time I received a text message or phone call on my iPhone…

it was kind of creeping me out…

a few nights ago, while I was on the phone with my daughter I heard it again and then I heard something fall…

that’s when I started laughing because I realized that it was the old Fitbit which I had put on the shelf in the hall and hadn’t disconnected…

it was vibrating and responding to each text and call and eventually vibrated right off the shelf…

found it on the stairs, lol…

fumes…

for the last two days there have been big trucks sitting outside of my office window… the noise has been rather stressful and we’ve also been overpowered on occasion by exhaust fumes…

so today when I arrived home, checked the mailbox and discovered a container filled with my favourite homemade shortbread cookies I was so pleased…

I ate three before even making it to the kitchen, lol…

friends are gifts;-)…

last night we were supposed to get a snowstorm but instead the wind swirled around the house… very little snow but we had a bit of snow and lots of cold wind all day…

tonight we decided we would go to aquasize even though it was blustery out…

rather proud of ourselves for going out in the miserable weather, lol…

had a good class, although there were only five of us…

got out of the pool and were drying off and getting dressed when the fire alarm went off…

terrible noise… everyone in the complex had to go to the front lobby and wait… with the alarm still ringing…

eventually the firefighters arrived and they spent about fifteen minutes going here and there… while the bells still rang…

eventually the alarm was turned off… at that point we couldn’t hear very well…

after another fifteen or twenty minutes we were allowed back in to get dressed…

we think that there actually was an issue although they never said anything while they were there…

made for an interesting evening…

omg… about that noise the night before last… not nearly as bad as it seemed…

last night a group of young women in the campsite across from us were drinking when we arrived to set up… they continued throughout the night and at 4 am my daughter went over and asked them to turn off the music and quiet down… made me very nervous because these days you have no idea of what people might do in any circumstance…

they did settle down… but it certainly affected our night… did get to see the amazing Milky Way again, though…

took down our tent and went to the beach with the boat… met up with family and played with their toys…

four person tube…


at one point the sky got a bit serious with thunder and lightning…
pretty rough looking sky… didn’t stop the rides though…

there was a period of waiting and then we were able to get back on the water and have a bit more fun…

finally headed down the channel and took a few pictures of some cattails…

also caught this seagull having a nap…

tonight we have a large group around our fire… will have to be careful we don’t make too much noise…

we were lucky enough to get a spot for tonight as well, so we are enjoying this last night…

had popcorn made on the campfire… good, but delicious once it had salt and butter on it, lol…

spent a couple of hours stargazing from the comfort of my bed… worst night of our entire trip for noise… people beside us talked loudly until about 2 am and then their baby cried for quite a while after that… to top it off they woke up early and made lots of noise… sounded like they were there for the week so we were very happy to be leaving, lol…

then we had a busy day… got up, had a quick breakfast, packed up, spent some time on the boat with friends… and then headed to Falcon Lake for our last night of camping… hot day…

set up one tent and went to the beach and met with family and did some boating…


had a little tour around the lakefront and took the boat back out of the water… lovely ride down the canal to get there…


rode back to the site in the boat on the trailer, which was kind of fun… ate our dinner around 10, as it was getting dark,  and we are now heading to bed…

well, after a bit more stargazing;-)…
