got some treats in the mail…

the first was a package from my daughter… another of my Advent All Year gifts…

it held the cutest zippered bag with sea turtles on it… I think it might be the perfect size for my travelling technology…

and the package from Amazon with the two items I ordered just four days before… I had tried to purchase both items at local stores but wasn’t able to find them so went online and ordered them…

fun to get stuff, lol…

I also ordered a cube for the kitchen so that the pot lights can be connected all the time, and using one of the Kasa plugs we can turn them on and off as needed… it will also offer the option of plugging in a USB cord if necessary…

slowly but surely, the house is getting smarter…

a person could just live by ordering things online and never leaving the house, lol…

relish…

had a lovely day…

my son-in-law arrived and we had breakfast at the “A” before we headed to Costco…

I really enjoy spending time with him and relish every moment… lots of great conversation as we talked about their upcoming vacation…

off to Costco where we picked up a few things and renewed my membership as well as used my annual refund towards paying the bill… this time when the renewal notice arrived, the cheque was on the first page, lol… last time it was on the second page and I didn’t see it… maybe I wasn’t the only one who didn’t see it…

I always appreciate when one of the kids come shopping with me… once we were back home, he helped put everything away and we had a cup of tea before he left to get his errands done…

what a fun day… my son-in-law called fairy early, dropped off the younger boys and headed to the gym…

my grandsons helped me make Thai Curry Shrimp Soup and we put some games on the tablet… once my son-in-law returned we had lunch at Applebee’s, wandered around the mall where I picked up some new tea and got an excellent deal on a pair of leggings… and went to the movies at Landmark…

when we got home my son-in-law fixed my thermostat so that it won’t keep going down to 18 degrees Celsius in an effort to save energy… but freeze me, lol… he also fixed the toilet paper holder so the roll doesn’t fall right off…

they left and I put on the tv and warmed up some of the soup…

pretty excellent day…

went out on a shopping expedition today with a friend…

checked out the Fromagerie Bothwell on Provencher… I thought it was just a cheese store, but it isn’t… it has all manner of other locally produced goodies as well… I picked up some De Luca’s pasta sauce, a pepperoni and cheese snack, soft goat cheese, and some of their marble cheese…

from there we went along the street to Chocolatier Constance Popp where I picked up some coconut dark chocolate macaroons (delicious), a sugar-free bar, a coconut and lime bar and finally a Manitobar to send to my daughter… that was fun…

back to St. James to check out Winners/Homesense… found a number of items which had been on my shopping list for a while… a cute little backpack, thermal socks, salt for my grinder, a soap dish, a lemon squeezer and a small container for my bedside table…

great fun…

actually went outside for the first time in at least a week…

walked to the “A” and met my grandson for breakfast… had a lovely meal and conversation…

from there we headed out to do some errands… bought some rollers at Saje… been trying to get there since I got back from Ottawa… picked up Sleep Well, Peppermint Halo and Pain Relief… I used the first two while I was away and will give the third one a try for some of the pain I’ve been experiencing in my knee…

was able to replace a Google Hub to get the correct colour… it was one of my Christmas gifts… but I did see a Lenovo Smart Display 10″ with Google Assistant… going to look into that a bit more in case it would do more of what I want than the Hub…

Indi finally had a bath and a few groceries were purchased, including a cute new plate…

I have been enjoying using different plates to eat from and I think this one will be a great addition…

home, put away the groceries and my grandson took the car… the plan was that he would come back tomorrow for dinner…

then it was afternoon nap time, lol…

have had a few busy days… out for dinner on Monday night, lunch and shopping yesterday…

once again this morning there some issues with the thermostat so I called MTS again… they had someone come out just after lunch so I spent the morning in the house… didn’t want to miss them…

it was a nice young man who had worked for a supplier we’d used at my work… he replaced the extender/booster (depends on who you talk to, lol) and then went through the process of renaming the network connection and re-entering the password…

after that he advised I would need to change the network for all of my devices, sigh…

the Nest is easy to get connected… yay…

if you remember, last time I did this for the Google family, it was a complete accident when it worked, lol…

so far all the Google Home pieces are working, but once again all of the TP-link devices are not cooperating…

I think I am going to let that go until tomorrow;-)…

had the most wonderful quiet day today… I am particularly happy about this as I anticipate that the next four days are going to be packed…

wrote a few cards to pop into the mail, made chili and spaghetti with meat sauce, and put away the last few groceries from yesterday’s shopping trip…

the chili came out great… I added some hamburger and onion to the basics… delicious…

missed having the boys for dinner, but they were busy… we are planning to make a gingerbread house next time they are over…

packaged up some meals to share and for the coming week…

had a number of phone calls and enjoyed a few Christmas movies as well…

went to the Outlet Mall with my grandson… had savoury crepes for lunch… very tasty, but a little messy to eat, lol…

from there we visited quite a few shoe stores before he found just the right pair…

then we spent some time in the Calvin Klein store… the shopping didn’t take long, prices were great, but the line-up to pay was rather tedious…

there were lots of beautiful decorations wherever we walked…

always great to spend time with this kind young man…

great time with my boys today…

we went out for lunch, did some shopping, and emptied and refilled the hot tub in under an hour…

that was pretty amazing because usually it takes about five hours to do this… think I will use this process in the future…

found out that the PVRs are broken, which explained why neither I or the guys could get any of them working… set up an appointment for someone to come out and do a repair during the week… missing a number of shows, sigh…

finally, we added a light strip along the staircase… it is going to be a great addition to my Google Home…

much cleaner looking than the twinkle lights were;-)…

ended our time with dinner in, and then they were off to watch the Jets game at home…

fun day with my grandsons…

met the three of them for dimsum… we haven’t been for ages so it was a great treat… felt a bit sad that their daddy was working so couldn’t come because he had mentioned it just last week, lol…

from there the youngest and I ran a few errands… we picked up fish food, birdseed and a few groceries… we also found a wreath for the front door;-)…

once we got home we put everything away and then he filled the reindeer Advent calendar with chocolate covered raisins… that was a lot of fun, and every drawer is jam packed…

we made nachos with bacon for supper and watched a few episodes of the Holiday Baking Championship…

his big brother came and picked him up and I am recovering in front of the tv;-)…
