had quite the giggle this morning…
last night I had rolled up the toothpaste container and then put a bulldog clip on it to keep the toothpaste closer to the top…
this morning when I unscrewed the cap, the toothpaste shot out… clearly there was a bit too much pressure, lol…
reminded me of how I always blamed my beloved for the messy toothpaste tube… amazingly, even after he was gone the tube sometimes gets messy;-)…
strange…

yesterday I received a message that some flowers were coming my way…
I spoke with the florist who advised they would arrive before end of day…
but then, 6 pm came and went… they usually close at that time, so I figured there would be no flowers…
around 7:30 they arrived… still wasn’t sure who was sending them…
they were well wrapped because it was cold outside…
opened them up to discover a beautiful bouquet of orchids, roses and carnations…
they were from a Toronto supplier I had worked with over the last ten years…
a lovely surprise…

been away from the office for sixteen days…
today when I returned there were notes and presents at my desk, and hugs from colleagues… nice to feel missed…
shortly after I went into a meeting I was called into another meeting at which point there was singing, flowers and a card… I was surprised as I was thinking that my birthday celebration would be on Monday…
sure is great to be appreciated;-)…

so last night I was in the bathroom and noticed a little piece of something on the ground… wondered if it was a piece of chocolate… it wasn’t, but I couldn’t figure out what it was…
spotted a few more as I walked to the kitchen and there were some on the floor there as well…
by then I was thinking that someone had been in the house… picked up all the bits and tossed them out…
headed upstairs and while I am watching tv saw a little head and then heard the pitter patter of little feet… when I looked down at the end of the bed I saw this…
the cutest little bunny… she let me take her picture and then hopped into the computer room…
I went downstairs to find some water and a carrot but I was still trying to figure out how she got in…
downstairs she came and sat in the doorway between the living and dining rooms…
I made a few phone calls and sent a few pictures… I like bunnies so I wasn’t scared but didn’t want one running around the house all night, leaving little pellets behind…
once she was in the dining room, I used chairs to block her in… then I made a path from there out the front door…
good thing it wasn’t too cold because the door was open for a while… once I moved the barricade to the dining room, she followed the path and went right outside where I had put a few more pieces of carrot for her…
eventually my heart stopped pounding, the furniture was all back in place, and I went downstairs to hook the vent back up, which was how she got in… will be buying something so that nobody else can come in that way;-)…
certainly had the adrenaline flowing…

my older daughter, who lives in Ottawa, surprised me on Wednesday… she arrived to help with a big event I’ve been working on…
after the event, she was able to visit with a few of her friends and we spent Saturday in our jammies doing nothing…
it was divine as both of us have been very busy for the last month…
we made macaroni and cheese with lobster for supper… at the same time I learned more about Instagram stories and a new app that slices videos to Instagram size;-)… as I was going through my photos looking for one of the mac and cheese to put in this post, I was giggling because we took two sets of videos and there wasn’t a single photo of the process that was good enough to use, lol…
we did manage to get into the hot tub once… our usual routine is to spend a few minutes at the end of each evening there…
this morning we were up early and took our requisite selfie, lol… we used her fancy Huawei phone which has some smoothing aspect in the pic… we look pretty fine…
I got her to the airport by 6:30 am for her flight… and took our final selfie…
a wonderful gift…

what a wonderful surprise…
the cleaners were supposed to be here yesterday but they took a snow day because of the weather which made perfect sense… I couldn’t get out of the driveway…
I was thinking they wouldn’t be here today although I asked if they might be able to fit me in…
it was a very long day so when I walked through the door and saw they’d been here it was such a treat…
just what I needed;-)…

been enjoying some beautiful flowers lately…
the cutest little orchid…
and I’ve been watching and waiting for my amaryllis to grow and bloom… I bought two at the same time and the one my daughter had bloomed beautifully at Christmas time…
mine did nothing for over a month… now it has started to grow in a manner that looks more like a hyacinth… will be interesting to see what happens…
a rose from the beginning of the week…

was wandering around watering the plants and had a lovely surprise…
usually I water on Saturday but was a bit behind so got to it this morning… was pleased that the paper whites have a couple of buds developing…
was at the mandevilla which has an orchid beside it – usually I keep the orchids for a year or two once they are finished blooming and then end up replacing them…
to my delight, I discovered four buds…
what a wonderful treat…

this morning I had a happy surprise when I went by the window in the hallway…
it was around six am and the light was still glowing in the garden… the solar light had stayed on all night… surely a sign of warmer days and stronger sunlight…
had to go back to the bedroom to get my phone so I could get a photo of it…
as I drank my smoothie I also noticed the moon out the window…
every day is getting lighter… this makes me very happy…

lots of treats and surprises today…
when the mail arrived there was a box with my name on it… in it was all of this…
two tasting packages, a cute notebook, a card and a hummingbird chocolate bar in a tiny love bag…
at lunchtime three of us did a little chocolate tasting… we had a great time… comparing how the small pieces taste for each of us is way more fun in a group than individually…
it was funny because I had decided to do a tasting on my own after supper with some of the pieces that my daughter sent me a while ago…
she had sent the parcel ten days before Mother’s Day and it only arrived last week, lol… the parcel today was a replacement because we had given up on the original one…
after lunch a colleague brought me a package with my favourite summer rolls… had them for my dinner…
the chips were a bonus;-)…
