did some work on the small pond pumps, which are used to move the water in the bathtub pond and add more oxygen in the main pond…
climbed into the pond and brought the pump onto the edge of the deck and cleaned out all the gunk that was in it and then put it back into the pond…
brought up the second pump and after climbing into the bathtub pond, got it set in the correct spot so it wouldn’t send the water out of the pond… then it was turned on and that pond was topped up…
now there won’t be any issues with mosquitoes and I’m going to add a few more plants to that one…
I was supposed to meet my adventure buddy for a walk around the English and Leo Mol Gardens… it was cold and windy and I may not have had the warmest clothes on, lol…
I walked over and found a tree trunk down across the path between the walking bridge and the entrance to the Gardens…
reported it to one of the gardeners who was working close to the entrance and they were going to notify the arborist…
once we met up, we decided to walk around The Leaf instead;-)… got the tickets online as we drove over and headed in…
it looked as though the gardeners had done a big pruning job and made a bit of space around the Tropical Biome… views of the water had been trimmed up nicely…
it was mainly overcast and rainy last Thursday, so I spent most of the day inside…
being as the weather was not so great, I decided to work on a project that has been on the list for a while, lol…
first I printed out a list of JD Robb books that I found online…
next I removed all of the books I have and set them on my desk…
I cut some coloured paper to use as markers and compared the list with my books and inserted a sheet of paper where the missing books belonged… I also checked off which books were still needed…
the books went back onto the shelf and I then prepared a spreadsheet listing the whole series and marking which books I still need to complete my set…
happy to get the project completed…
now to send the list off to a friend and Globosapiens bookstore to see how many more we can find;-)…
once I find the remainder, there will need to be some reorganizing of the shelves, as I still need around nineteen, lol…
I finally removed the under-bench lighting that hasn’t worked since before my beloved died… you can see it in this photo… it is the tube-like piece hanging below the bench and looks messy…
I hadn’t realized that he had fastened it with screws and was thinking what a huge job it was going to be to lay on my back and move around under the bench undoing it, two screws at a time…
then I got the bright idea to cut sections of it and pull it out…
woohoo, it worked perfectly and the deck looks much tidier now…
now to decide if I want to look for something similar to replace it, sigh…
often, now as I lay in bed at night, I listen to the frogs at the creek croaking their little hearts out…
it is quite lovely to hear and reminded me that I needed to move the camera – which was facing the driveway for the winter – back to its spot on the deck, facing the pond…
made the move today, after I charged the battery…
it will be interesting to see if it catches those bunnies that have been tearing around the garden at night, lol…
