thinking about decorating on Friday for Valentine’s Day…
picked up two of these cute heart wreaths yesterday… have to figure out how to attach them to the front door…
also picked up these little hearts… not sure where I am going to put them…
also found these cool letters the other day…
can’t decide on where to put them…
interesting method of putting the batteries in… had to unscrew the cover and then screw it back once they were inside it…
thinking of putting them in the living room window so they face out… feel the need to remind everyone to love each other these days…
found the cutest napkins and some little hearts filled with candy for the kids…
remembering my beloved’s big and kind heart…

needed chips and flowers today so I stopped at Safeway on my way home and picked up both…
spoke to the florist on duty and told him about the hydrangeas that I brought home a few weeks back and which died within a few days… he mentioned they would replace them so one batch of these flowers were free… nice…
had enough flowers to make two arrangements so I’ve got one in the living room and one in the bedroom…
munched on a bowl of chips while enjoying the flowers…

apparently yesterday was quite full…
started in the morning with a lovely sunrise…
wonderful to have the sunshine… a bit later I noticed the sun lighting up the waterfall…
picked up some cushions on sale while I was out grocery shopping…
while the kids were here for dinner they scraped down a large section of the kitchen ceiling where the paint had been peeling… what a mess it made, lol… but now I won’t have to worry about it falling on my head…
and finally last evening the lights all came on at the correct time and went off when they were supposed to…
lots happened and it was all fun…

been thinking about eye drops a lot…
in January or February of 2012, George had cataract surgery on his right eye… it made a huge improvement to his vision and he did very well during and after the surgery…
the cataract came on very quickly and he kept thinking that he had something in his eye so we were very happy to discover that was the problem… saw a wonderful doctor, got on the list and into and out of the Misericordia in record time…
the one difficulty he struggled with was the eye drops which started out three times a day at the beginning and were still happening twice a day even when he went back to work…
he just couldn’t put them in by himself, lol… so it became my job to administer the drops…
I’ve been putting drops in my eyes every night for many years as I’ve been diagnosed with glaucoma… once you start taking them you have to continue forever…
recently I was doing some work in my computer photo library and came across a photo I had taken of his eye just a few days before his death… it was very close up and showed the sparkle that was always there…
here’s one that always makes me chuckle…

been thinking a lot about Valentine’s Day and my beloved…
he was a romantic and always made sure that the day was special for me… he was also romantic the rest of the year…
been dealing with a few household issues lately and maybe that’s why I’ve been thinking of him so much…
on our last Valentine’s together he had a lovely card, a rose, cinnamon hearts and a jacket I’d been coveting from his work – all sitting on the kitchen counter when I came downstairs… he’d had to go through quite a process to get the jacket for me as they didn’t have the right size at his store, so he’d gone to another location to get it.. still one of my favourites…
every time I have flowers they remind me of all the individual roses, bouquets and orchids he brought me over the years… particularly during the winter months when I would often feel down…
flowers have always been able to perk me up and bring a smile to my face…

we often spend our lunch hour discussing various topics…
recently we’ve been talking about the enneagram…
wonderful to have a variety of opinions and points of view…
we are diverse, with ones, twos, sixes and sevens in the group… a great opportunity to see how each personality works at their best, and sometimes, not so best, lol…
these amazing women are always learning… I am so proud to be able to spend time with them and learn from and with them…
this shot I took of some hoarfrost on the garage window reminded me of how unique we all are, even as we are similar… and what a beautiful pattern we make together…

last night when I got into the house and opened the fridge it was not cold…
I wondered if I hadn’t closed the door, so closed it and left it for awhile… still not cold when I opened the door later… the lights were working but there wasn’t any motor noise…
was able to pull it out from the wall, but not enough to easily get behind it to unplug it… so I had to get a stool and climb over a counter and twist around…
eventually got it unplugged, but when it was plugged back in, still wasn’t working…
spent a bit of time taking stuff down to the fridge in the basement… so lucky to have that one… good exercise, lol…
now there is a giant white box in the middle of the kitchen that takes up a big portion of the room…
today I did some research and eventually got an appointment for someone to come and check it out tomorrow afternoon…
fingers crossed that it can be fixed…

a few days ago I noticed this interesting critter on the ever-blooming orchid…
it hasn’t moved but I think it is alive…
was worried that it was going to hurt the plant, which has another new blossom starting…
going to try cinnamon… tomorrow…

back to aquasize tonight… been a while… the parking lot was jam packed… we are anticipating that by mid-February there will be ample room…
and although there were many people at the Rec Centre, our class was rather small, but we got a good workout… the best part was the generous space in the Change Rooms… had a whole section to ourselves…
after supper I enjoyed one of these wonderful peanut butter cookies that my swim buddy brought over last night…
delicious…
