had a lovely time on Monday taking photos of the water lilies in the Leo Mol Garden…
it sprinkled a few times throughout my time there, so I did end up putting on and taking off my rain jacket, lol…
there were also quite a few frogs in the pond and I do love to search them out and get a few pictures, lol…
too bad I didn’t have my Nikon so I could have gotten closer shots…the warm water in the lily pond certainly helps with all the blooms…
there are also lilies in the arbour pond, but more pads, than lilies…
reminded me of my art installation…

the blue morning glories have taken off;-)…
yesterday I sat in the garden and watched three of them bloom over half an hour…
it is quite spectacular to almost see them opening as you watch…

the morning glories are exploding…
on Tuesday I counted twenty-six on the obelisk next to the back door… happy I took some nice photos before it rained, lol… the rain completely destroys them…
today I didn’t count, but I think there may have been even more, and there were two blue ones on the butterfly bench;-)…
sock a lovely way to begin the day…

spent time with old photos today as I was searching for some particular pictures…
a neighbour was having a party and had signs on the lawn which made me think of the business we had for a number of years…
we designed and produced (well my beloved did the making, lol) different signs and words and snuck into yards to set them up for special occasions…
it was fun and at the time no one else was doing that…
going through photos to find a few of the ones we’d set up was enjoyable and a reminder of some amazing times in our lives;-)… some of those albums were kind of dusty…

this morning we drove to Miss Millie’s Flower Farm and had a lovely time in the fields…
my adventure buddy gathered flowers, and I gathered photographs with my Nikon… great fun for both of us…
of the 125 photos I took, I was very pleased with about 75…
the weather was perfect, overcast and cool, and there were few bugs… we had been there in August of 2022 and the mosquitoes had been voracious at that time…
the fields were not as far along due to the weather but it is a beautiful place to spend time in… so happy I remembered that taking pictures was more fun for me than gathering flowers;-)… and nice to get the camera out for a change;-)…
I also brought home some fresh eggs and a new tea mug (Sugar & Spice Pottery);-)…

had a fun time remembering the “installation” which a friend helped me install a number of years ago as I was making adjustments to them…
the installation consists of twenty-nine photos of water lilies which I had taken…
over the years a number of the pictures had slipped in the frames and I finally got around to removing them one by one and taping the photos to the matting before reinstalling them on the wall…
there had been wine and a lot of laughter as we worked away to get all the pictures up on the wall, lol…
this time my housemate was able to help with the pieces I couldn’t reach, lol…
happy to have this project completed…

as you enter the Mediterranean biome there are dozens of amaryllis in various stages… some nearly done, while others are fully open… many with multiple petals…
absolutely gorgeous…
and then you step into the Babs Asper display area… twelve hundred orchids in one place;-)… heaven…
the Blooms in Winter display is so lovely, a perfect place to enjoy the beauty of orchids…
there are a number of arches to walk through and benches to sit on and enjoy the views…
orchids everywhere, beautiful shapes and sizes…
what a delight;-)…
can’t wait to go back;-)…

was having some trouble with the new photo frame…
for some reason it stopped accepting photos that were sent to it…
after some investigation I discovered that it was offline… wasn’t sure why or how to fix that…
then all of a sudden it was working again…
I’ve also decided to turn it to vertical rather than horizontal… the majority of pictures I take use that orientation…
and was able to change the piece on the back so that the frame stands up the way I want, lol…

had a lovely time on Sunday getting ready for a Christmas gathering with my friends on Monday…
dug out a snowflake tablecloth and discovered some stains on it so soaked, washed, and dried it before placing it on the table…
then I brought down Christmas plates to put on the table…
snowflake napkins and silverware, along with chopsticks finished the setup…
a bouquet of red and white flowers went into a low vase to finish off the display;-)…
we met on Monday and had a delicious lunch via Skip the Dishes… such a great way to share a meal together stress–free for everyone, lol…
before we ate, we took our annual Christmas photo, once I remembered which particular button to press on the camera, lol…
once we’d eaten, we moved to the living room to open our gifts to one another… always great fun and thoughtful presents…
such a special group of women…
