this morning had a great walk to the Park…

on my way saw a bunny and a gaggle of geese… crossed the street so as not to disturb them… was a bit of a surprise to see them on a sidewalk, but maybe they were checking out the Little Library, lol…

crossing the walking bridge I spotted a brief of pelicans… I think there were nine in total and there was a cormorant with them… it was clearly preening time…

my camera battery quit midway through my walk so I took the rest of the photos with my iPhone… it always makes me giggle when it announces that it is exhausted, lol…

today I seemed to lean toward white…

although I did focus on a few frogs, lol…

a much less crowded visit than the one on Sunday… the one sad thing was that our bench was being watered so I couldn’t sit…

ended the visit checking out the ducks and geese at the Riley Family Duck Pond…

emotions…

the other night when I got dropped off at home I couldn’t find my house key…

stood at the back of my friend’s vehicle searching through my bag in the dark, dumping everything out, with no success…

they waited while I turned on my iPhone flashlight and headed to the back of the house to dig out the spare key…

brought back lots of emotions because when my beloved died I realized that I couldn’t just call him if I lost or forgot it… found a spot to stash it so I would be safe if I came home without a way to get in…

rather happy I was able to find it as I haven’t needed to use it since I put it in its hiding spot…

it was a bit dirty, but worked;-)…

and the next morning I put it right back to keep me safe…

last night my BS buddies and I went to see Cinderella at Rainbow Stage…

they are the most wonderful group of women and anytime we have a chance to get together and take a field trip fun will be had;-)… they picked me up at work and off we went…

had supper at Prairie’s Edge in Kildonan Park before the performance…

we walked over to the theatre and found our seats just in time for the dress rehearsal…

thanks to our driver and selfie taker for this picture before the show;-)…

it was a great performance and we all enjoyed it… they did a splendid job considering this was the first night… the 15 person orchestra was excellent… also appreciated the updated storyline…

even exiting the Park went smoothly… was impressed with the cooperation of all the vehicles as they used the zipper technique…

I really enjoyed it… must be thirty years since I was last there, lol…

yesterday I got this package in my mailbox…

so this morning, I rushed around the kitchen thinking I needed to get the sample put outside before I left the house… because… they were picking it up in 24 to 48 hours…

as I read the directions I spotted this small notice in the corner of the sheet…

the colouring had me thinking that it was from the city and it wasn’t until I read it thoroughly that I realized it was an attempt to get my information and try to sell me a water purification system…

kind of made me mad…

picked up the cutest bowl a few days ago to use at work…

it will replace one that I had previously, but which got chipped…

today I took it to the office and had a salad in it… I think it is going to be the perfect size…

we’ve talked about how coffee or tea always tastes best from a particular mug or cup… I have a little pottery cup for water and a special mug that I have for my tea…

silly, but true, things do taste better out of certain containers…

the Virginia creeper had completely taken over beside the hot tub… the tv room was basically always dark because the window was covered with vines…

I’ve tried to get it trimmed down by others, but timing hasn’t worked…

today I did it myself… put on those big girl pants and climbed onto the edge of the hot tub…

afterwards I went back into my photos to find some I knew were there of my beloved trimming the same area…

these photos were from July 2011… it is always bittersweet when I look through old pictures… fun to see and relive the memories, but missing him at the same time…

since my diabetes diagnosis I have tried to stay away from bread except for rare occasions…

today I made a tomato sandwich on a mini olive ciabatta… the only other thing on it was Miracle Whip…

I picked up the bread yesterday and had a tomato from our CSA box this week…

it was a delicious treat…

reminded me of all the wonderful tomato sandwiches that my beloved made for me over the years… took the longest time to realize the reason they were so delicious was the amount of Miracle Whip slathered on them, lol…

this morning I ran a number of errands…

paid for my house insurance… it had been in both our names, but after my beloved died and they changed it to my name only, the birthdate was still his… cost me more money when I advised that I wasn’t that age, lol…

also changed over my car insurance to have the payments come out of the bank automatically, as MPI has stopped taking the monthly amounts from credit cards…

went to the credit union where they put a cheque in and immediately made a payment onto my credit card… handy, as there was no need to wait any additional time… added a few accounts and discovered that I could send up to $3,000 via eTransfer, although I am still ticked that they charge for that service…

took Indi for a bath, which she really needed as she’s been driven to Kenora twice in the last while and was covered in bugs…

finally picked up a few groceries before heading home… nice to get all that over with…

then there was eating, tv watching and napping…

for the last few weeks my desk has been a bit messed up as I had loaned out a small rolling filing cabinet…

this meant that all my plants, mainly orchids, ended up on the desktop, making it a bit crowded…

today, I got the cabinet back and our amazing plant whisperer reorganized the space… she remembered exactly how it should look, which was good because I couldn’t remembered what went where…

looks amazing now… and the space has a much calmer feeling;-)… ahhh…
