while my son-in-law was here at the end of August, we tried to install a tp-link switch in the computer room… an issue with wires meant we couldn’t do it…
it didn’t seem like that big a deal, so I left it alone…
today I removed the cover and put in one of the Philips Hue bulbs… the cover will have to stay off so that it gets sufficient air which is okay…
and, with this bulb I am able to dim the light which will be especially good at night when I am charging my Fitbit…
funny how a simple solution can be found if it percolates for a while, lol…
I had a craving for macaroni and cheese… well I really wanted lobster mac and cheese, but didn’t have any lobster… I did have shrimp so decided on shrimp macaroni and cheese…
macaroni and cheese has been one of our family favourites… whenever I visit my daughter it is on the list of things that I must make, lol…
I was going to use oat milk instead of 2% regular milk which I didn’t have, but was told it wouldn’t turn out the way I am used to…
I cooked the macaroni and set it in the fridge to cool… then I contacted a friend and they brought me the milk as they were coming over anyway… yay…
once you’ve got a craving it is hard not to make what you want…
I made two pots… one with shrimp and bacon and one with only bacon…
I am going to package some up for the next few days and freeze some for down the road;-)…
it was absolutely delicious and I may have eaten two bowls;-)…
recently went to the theatre… a friend and I have been going together for a number of years…
during the pandemic we watched online, but that certainly wasn’t the same…
we had gone to a live presentation in the spring and were happy to be back…
they are still spacing people out, skipping intermission, and encouraging people to wear masks… both of these helped make the afternoon enjoyable… we also had another friend join us…
as is often the case, the set itself was interesting… from before the play started, when the set was quietly tidied… to the end, when it was absolutely trashed, lol…
so nice to do some morenormal activities…
on our way home we followed a car with my beloved’s initials…
this morning my adventure buddy and I went back to aquasize for the first time in about three years…
we’d been going to Cindy Klassen at that time… currently that pool is closed for repairs, so our excursion today was to the Pan Am pool…
we hadn’t been there previously and weren’t sure of the situation with Covid, so we were a bit nervous…
registering for the class online had been complicated, but we got it done… and the great news is that we can use our Healthy Living Access card from now on… no more fighting with the online registration system;-)…
the space was clean, there were ample lockers, the other participants were friendly, music was excellent and the teacher was tremendous…
and we appreciated the assistance of the staff as they answered all our questions;-)…
we had a great experience and are looking forward to the next time… especially now we can use our Access cards, lol…
last week the cleaning company got a little confused and they came on Friday instead of Wednesday…
it always takes a bit of time to be sure everything is tidy for their arrival… when they didn’t arrive on Wednesday at the designated time, I called and left a message, but didn’t hear back…
Thursday I called and left a second message, but again didn’t hear back… this is not the norm with this company so I was starting to worry about them…
Friday, first thing in the morning I got a call… due to a few strange happenings, both of my calls had been missed and their scheduling app had a few hiccups, so they now had me scheduled for noon…
I ran around and did a final tidy and they arrived a few minutes early… they did a great job of making the place nice and shiny…
the bed always looks fancy after they’ve been, lol… very nice for an afternoon nap;-)…
because I am not going out much there isn’t anywhere to wear it… seems like a small act, but the best I can do…
and I made an online donation to the mypoppy.ca campaign…
apparently I chose my mom when I did the same thing a few years ago… made me giggle because I first thought of doing one for my dad, lol… they both served during World War II…
the above information comes from Then and Now, The History of La Salle, Manitoba…
so, I went ahead and made a second donation in his honour;-)…
