it always amazes me how one day my hair is perfectly fine and the next day way too long… and I can’t possibly wait another moment to fix it🤪…
finally got around to using the beautifully sharp scissors… well, they were sharpened in September…
they are amazing;-)… what a difference…
after a bit of trimming, I think my hair came out pretty nice…

the decorating is taking shape…
worked on the living room table…
removed all the pictures, angels, sarongs, and stones…
found the bags filled with ornaments that have gone into it for the last few years…
got them into three of the squares and saved the last square for cards;-)…
and I also received the first card… woohoo…

it was above zero today, so I took the opportunity to clear the snow off the deck…
it was beautiful out, warm and still… and I enjoyed my time in the garden, even if it was shovelling…
the weather has been a bit odd, with freezing cold days, then warm ones, and then back to the cold ones, lol…

I love smoked Goldeye and don’t have it too often…
yesterday, when I was out with a friend we stopped in at Gimli Fish Market and I was able to pick one up…
today, I made Goldeye cream cheese for the future and had Goldeye with cucumber and onion salad for my lunch…
delicious, what a treat;-)…

finally took the time to move the table behind the sofa in the den…
it sounds simple, but involved moving the table into the hall, pushing the sofa (and carpet) to the side of the room, getting the table past the edge of the sofa, and then putting everything back, lol…
got it all done, found a quilt to put on the table and sat down to recuperate from all that exercise;-)…
looks good…

I love my new leggings… I had ordered a large and an extra-large pair and as they both fit, have decided to keep both of them…
they have side pockets, but they open to the back, not the front which seemed odd…
but, because of that, my phone fits into the spot perfectly and doesn’t jab into me when I sit down, lol…
they are thicker and that is keeping me warmer inside the house, as I try to keep the thermostat set lower… although I think it is a going to get raised up before too long…

the bathtub has been draining very slowly for a while now…
a suggestion had been to use Drano in it…
I finally climbed right in, and realized the stopper would unscrew…
then I discovered that the rubber washer had broken in two and was clearly the culprit…
it drained perfectly once removed…
now to get out and find a replacement for the washer…

had a lovely day on Saturday…
started with six beautiful hibiscus flowers smiling at me;-)…
my grandson texted to say they were going to pick up some groceries and a parcel for me so we decided to have supper together…
I had a good time making stuffing and mashed potatoes, cooking mushrooms for gravy, and getting a chicken ready to roast…
in between those activities I watched speed skating and a Christmas movie, lol…
when the kids arrived we enjoyed a great visit and delicious meal… then he shovelled the driveway, decks and sidewalks… I truly am blessed…
it is always a treat to spend time with them;-)…

a good friend came by Friday morning with a parcel they picked up for me…
I also received some delicious scones;-)…
after they left, I spent time in the living room reorganizing the space…
tidied and moved plants, rearranged tables and sat and read in the finished space…

was out for the first full sidewalk shovel of the year on Thursday…
last week I did the very front portion of the sidewalk closest to the road, lol… but the shovel I used was not good… it was heavy and the snow clung to the metal…
we went to Canadian Tire and checked out all the options… finally I chose this plastic one…
it worked well and as there wasn’t much snow on the ground it didn’t take too long…
a bit later in the day, I shovelled to the back lane so that the garbage bin could go out;-)…
and then the snow started again, lol…
big quiet flakes;-)…
