was making my morning tea the other day, when I looked outside and noticed a delivery truck slowing down and stopping in front of the neighbours’ house…
kept watching, to see what they were getting, lol… then he pulled out a pallet with four chairs on it…
they were for me, but there were vehicles in front of the house so they had to park that little bit further…
the driver got them down and brought them up the driveway, but felt he couldn’t carry them along the path between the driveway and house because it wasn’t shovelled to the ground… so he left them there…
I put my coat on, went out, cut away the plastic holding them to the pallet, and carried them in, two at a time… then I brought in the pallet… at which point my grandson came up the basement stairs to see what was going on, lol…
I am very happy to get them because I’ve been looking for replacements since the fall for the 13 year old ones on the deck which have given up the ghost… all the ones I had seen couldn’t be delivered so I was very happy when I found these on sale the other day… and there was no delivery fee;-)…
I think I will make a planter with the pallet… bonus…
on Thursday we walked instead of going to aquasize…
we had breakfast at the Park Cafe where we waited a few moments before getting our table…
I had falafel eggs Benedict without the English muffin and it was very tasty…
after that, we drove over and walked around the outside of the Diversity Gardens on the road which was clear of snow and ice… we went through the Gardens as well where most of the paths were snow free… it was cold, but basically the only frozen things were our fingers, lol… particularly when I was glove-free taking photos…
we enjoyed our half hour walk and are looking forward to more such walks as the weather improves;-)…
ordered an arched trellis online and it arrived a few days ago… I was a little worried because the package was taped up a lot and I wondered if all the pieces were going to be inside…
I hadn’t planned to put it together until the snow was gone, but was a bit worried about missing pieces and what I would do if I didn’t sort it out till later…
when it was undone, some of the bags appeared to have been opened and then re-closed… and, there were no instructions…
took a while, but after looking at the information from the link where I bought it, it came together nicely…
currently it is in three pieces… the two sides and the arch… not sure I could get it outside if I join it all together… the final two cross pieces and screws are waiting to finish it up…
might take the pieces out to the garage and finish it, or just wait for the snow in the side garden to melt so I can put it in its new home…
haven’t seen them for ages, so it was a wonderful treat;-)…
we caught up and they shovelled part of the driveway for me…
the shovelling was a big job as the driveway hasn’t been cleared for months, but it was a beautiful day… and, in the process, the youngest lost his AirPods… in a white container;-(… we spent quite some time digging through all the snow they had moved but did not find them…
we had Chinese food for supper…I’ve been craving it for a while so that made it especially good…
after supper I dug out a set of earbuds from my collection of ones that don’t fit my ears and gave him those… everyone played on their phones for a while as we chatted before they headed home;-)…
they have become lovely young men, although they still bicker like brothers, lol…
shovelled a path across the upper deck on Sunday morning… that way I was able to adjust the solar motion sensor… the squirrels had tipped it down on their trips back and forth…
it has been many, many, weeks since the deck had been shovelled… and in that time, the sun has frozen a number of layers so it was a bit difficult to get it cleared…
later in the afternoon I noticed that a lot of the remaining snow where I shovelled had melted away… so I made another pass…
this time I left a bit of snow to melt there…
my photos suggest that it looked like this in March of 2021… hard to believe, lol…
had a fun time in the Shirley Richardson Butterfly Garden at The Leaf on Thursday… it wasn’t too cold outside and bright so there was lots of activity…
a fair number of people were in the space and there were many butterflies…
apparently I was enamoured with the orange ones, lol…
this little one sat and offered different poses;-)…
and, of course, I tried to catch the elusive Blue Morpho… there were quite a few of them, but what makes it elusive is that you need to catch it in flight to capture the blue colour, lol… but I did get a partial shot;-)…
at least you can see some of the blue…
spending time in this space sure does make me happy;-)…
