tonight I walked home from Portage…

it was a bit chilly, but a lovely walk… the streets were clear of snow and just a bit wet so my feet made it home unscathed…

really happy now that I know the sidewalks are in good shape so that I can start walking on a regular basis;-)…

although there is very little snow remaining on the ground, it snowed off and on for a good portion of the day… crazy…

the creek is full of water, nearly all the ice has melted… the mix of cold and warm and wind have slowed down the melt so it doesn’t look like it will overflow…

two lovely things to start my day…

first was to turn the page on my Chihuly calendar…

April is a stunning installation which is located at Union Station in Tacoma, Washington… will be nice to look at for the month…

and, when I got to the office I discovered my little inukshuk (or inuksuk) keychain sitting on my desk… it broke quite a while ago and a sweet colleague took it home for repair… there it sat, just waiting to get back together with my work keys, which happened immediately… she did a beautiful repair job…

I love inuksuit… there is one in the side garden built out of Tyndall stone… well, it needs a little work, but that will happen as the weather improves, lol…

excellent start to the day…

started the day with a lovely hot tub

although tons of snow has melted, there is still quite a bit covering the garden… took a photo when I got out of the tub…

this afternoon my grandson filled the bird feeders and then shovelled some of the snow so that it might melt a bit faster when the sun shines…

birds are gonna be happy

sun shone all day which is great… Saturday is my rest day and I try not to leave the house…

had a fun time changing out the drawer in the living room coffee table…

put away all of the pictures of beautiful Chihuly installations and family photos… brought back some lovely memories of our meeting with him in Seattle… like shaking the hand of a rock star;-)…

pulled out the box filled with sea shells and used them to fill the four quadrants… I remember how excited I was to find this table at IKEA that the shells could go into…

of course, I’ve lost two different batches of shells since then, lol…

but it looks lovely and beach-y...

back to being off every Friday… happy to be on this schedule…

this morning I had a checkup and besides the usual tests the doctor included an EKG

apparently by the time you are 67 (for another few weeks) they want to get a baseline for the future… I am wondering what their expectations are, going forward, lol…

once I was done there, I called to see if I could get in for a pedicure… only waited about half and hour, and besides the pedicure, I got a sports manicure

lovely fingers and toes…

topped the day off with Clay Oven Goat Thali via SkipTheDishes;-)… I divide it up and have enough for another meal…

happy Friday…

such a beautiful start to the day…

the sky was gorgeous, the flowers were blooming… and it was warm… although there was just a skiff of snow on the ground…

amazing how fast we can forget the cold weather…

tonight it was great to see the solar lights coming on… in the garden they are shining through the snow…

more signs of Spring…

this morning I had to drive myself to work… missed my carpool buddy…

was surprised when I opened the back door to find a bag hanging from the handle… then I remembered that my daughter had said a friend was going to drop something off… it had completely slipped my mind… particularly as I am usually coming in the front door now…

my technique when I drive out of the garage is to stop and make sure the overhead door closes all the way before I drive away… that way, when I get down the street, or halfway to the office, I won’t freak out wondering if I closed it…

while I waited I enjoyed looking at the Joy hanging in the car… for whatever reason it was rocking and rolling a bit… brought a smile to my face…

good start to a foggy morning…

situations…

I’ve been thinking about so many in my circles who are dealing with difficult situations

some are dealing with health issues, others with family problems, and still others are struggling with their work situations…

as the weather warms up and the sun gets stronger every day I am reminded of how good my world is…

tonight, as I walked up the street, I took a photo of the road and creek…

there is lots of water out there, which is exciting because that means it is Spring

yay, yay, yay…

been wearing sandals since last Wednesday (start of Spring and all), so have had to do a bit less walking on the sidewalks because they are still slushy, or icy, or filled with puddles…

there is still a great deal of snow out there, particularly on the lawns and in yards, but it is certainly melting more every day…

I was tidying up one of the kitchen junk drawers yesterday and I found the resurrection plant that we bought when my youngest grandson and I were in Ottawa last year about this time…

its actual name is Rose of Jericho… thank you Google;-)…

I took pictures as it opened…

12:07, 12:22, 1:31, 3:23…

4:20, 6:23 yesterday and 8:08 am and 5:06 pm today…

it is now a beautiful green floating plant… I am interested to see how it will end up…
