strap…

last year, on our final camping trip of the season, the strap on the kneeboard broke…

the board came from my son-in-law’s grandparents and he is very attached to it… new boards are designed differently and he doesn’t like them…

so, recently I started searching for someone who might fix the strap…

found strapping and Velcro and spoke with a local upholsterer who agreed to do the sewing for us…

once my son-in-law checked out the strapping we realized it wasn’t quite right… he found some from a ratchet he had at home and we dropped off the Velcro and strapping to be sewn…

now we have a nice new strap… it should get attached to the board in the next few days;-)…

had some delicious eats today…

picked up a loaf of bread and some croissants at La Belle Baguette on my way into the office…

the car smelled amazing all the way downtown and the croissants were a hit with my colleagues…

at lunch I made a tomato sandwich, and a cucumber one as well, with the fresh bread and a ripe tomato from a colleague’s parents’ farm… used basil instead of lettuce… oh my, it tasted wonderful…

for my supper I finished off the shrimp from last night and the last of the mango slices I picked up the other day…

yummy day…

yesterday when I was shopping I picked up an orchid

I’ve been remembering times with my beloved a lot lately…

hot tubs and morning glories and orchids

wonderful memories

recently I heard someone ask if people believed in love at first sight

I do…

the first time I met him I knew he was the one for me… and I was right, he most certainly was;-)…

I am really missing my camera… on the first day of our camping trip it died…

the zoom opened, but then would not close… I tried all the possibilities – turned it off, turned it back on, took out the battery… sadly, nothing worked…

this is how it still looks, sigh…

at this point I don’t think it is worth repairing… I’ve had it for at least ten years and it has been repaired two or three times… don’t think it is worth the money… current technology is so advanced that now is the time to look into a new model…

I’ve been looking into replacing it and had hoped it would last until Christmas, but no such luck… it feels like an old friend so it is sad to see it go… will have to save up for a while to get a replacement…

it is quite amazing how much you can miss something or someone….

been a full day… up early to get to my doctor’s appointment…

from there went to get Indi washed… she’s happy to be clean after all the bugs and dirt from camping… I think she was a bit embarrassed to be seen while she was so dirty;-)…

on to Polo to pick up meds and a warm pretzel as a reward for a good appointment…

home to put everything away and then walked to the Park to meet a friend and her baby for lunch and a walk around the Gardens… sure do love baby snuggles

maintained my baby whisperer status as I managed to get her to have a lovely nap as we wandered around…

stopped in at an upholstery shop on the way home to see about getting some sewing done…

now to rest

early in August my son-in-law, youngest grandson and I drove out to the campground we had booked for our vacation to leave the boat… only one of the vehicles can pull the boat and trailer so it means two trips to get both of them to our destination…

we had a great day, boating and fishing… we also checked out the shops;-)…

I picked up the sweetest screen door protector…

a lovely butterfly made up of two parts with magnets in the middle… it looked very cool on the screen door…

I really liked it, so while we were there last week I picked up a few more…

very cute;-)… and will surely help people realize the screen is closed, lol..

was thinking about how our camping game has improved…

in August of 2015 we camped in two tents… one for the boys and one for the adults… we also had thick air mattresses and a tarp that covered both of the tents…

there was a humongous thunderstorm during the night and the tarp saved us from being drenched… after it started to rain again in the morning we decided to pack up and go home…

we camped the second night in the basement of the kids new house, lol…

August 2018… for the last ten days we were in this tent trailer… we bought it last year and after the first trip one of the ends broke…

the kids finished making repairs, painting and replacing the floor just before we left… so much more comfortable than the tents, lol…

it reminds me of the camping trips we made when the girls were young as it is very similar to the one we had then;-)…

my beloved would have enjoyed it…

so happy that the morning glories were saved

while I was away my grandson came by a few times and watered them… they are in small planters so need lots of water

I’d been waiting for them to flower for weeks and the first bloom only came out the day before I left on vacation…

they are blooming in and amongst the mandevilla which is also blooming like crazy…

flowers sure do make me happy
