nearly forgot to wear white to work this morning…

we had decided to take a photo of everyone in Jets gear… three staff members brought various pieces of clothing for those who didn’t have any…

it was quite a collection… there were jerseys, t-shirts, jackets, scarves, towels, hats, a coverall and even a white pompom

part of the fun was deciding what worked best for each of us, lol… some of the jerseys were quite large…

while that was happening I found a great picture to put up on our tv…

once we were all dressed up we took a number of photos…

and got a few great shots… fun to be part of the #wpgwhiteout…

feeling as though I haven’t been eating properly… so tonight I baked a chicken leg and thigh, with eggplant slices, and sweet potatoes… and made a cucumber and onion salad

was rather pleased with myself… and it was very good

after supper I peeked outside and saw this lovely sky…

not long before that the sky had been gray and rain had been falling… nice change…

very happy that a young friend had come by on Monday and raked the yard for me… still lots to do, including putting the six bags of leaves out for pick-up…

a bit of rain would certainly be good for the grass and the plants…

today I got to drive my new car to work for the first time…

flowers were the first thing that got carried in the car… how lovely is that;-)…

I’ve been contemplating her name for a while now… depending on the light the colour moves from blue to purple…

spent some time checking out purple-ish names… had fourteen on my list but the ones that resonated the most were

amethyst – orchid – periwinkle – indigo

in the end Indigo was the winner… it is described as a colour between blue and purple…

she will go by Indi;-)… suits her…

today I got my new car

Shadow was traded in and I got a 2018 model tonight… this time I bought the car rather than lease it… I am most excited about the heated steering wheel although when my grandson takes it over, down the road, he will likely appreciate the various safety features… the car will keep you inside the lines on the road and match the speed of the car ahead of you on the highway… pretty cool…

was a bit of a process to get the tires into the car to take with me, lol… happily my neighbour was out and about and was able to come over and help me get them loaded…

I haven’t decided on a name for this new vehicle just yet…

took everything out of the various storage places and even remembered to remove the garage door opener, lol…

took a final picture of Shadow as she sat outside the doors of the dealership… it was very cold as I walked to and from the insurance company… wasn’t thinking I’d be outside for so long… eventually got the keys and met the new vehicle in my life… they even put a big bow on her…

she’s a beauty… now I just have to learn all the new stuff…

last night I went to a concert with my BS buddies… can’t even think when I was last at one… it was fun to spend time out with these wonderful women… we also shared a bit of chocolate, lol…

it was amazing to see the variety of talent in this family… besides being a great singer, Connie Kaldor is also hilarious

and Heather Bishop joined in for the last song…

what a treat

the hot tub was at 104 this afternoon… so I quickly changed my plans and spent a bit of time enjoying the warmth…

this is the second time it had made it to that temperature since I got home… it hasn’t been that warm in months…

on Tuesday evening I was in it for a while too… although the temperature went down rapidly once I got in…

apparently now I need a new spa pack and they guarantee that this is going to fix the problem… it if doesn’t I am going to have to take some drastic steps because this has gone on way too long…

I miss my nightly relaxation…

today I was back at the physiotherapist office

he was pleased with the progress with my knee over the last few weeks…

I can walk without pain although I still feel a twinge now and then… apparently it still needs work as I don’t have complete range of motion yet…

learned some exercises to do to strengthen the muscles in my thighs which will assist my knee… made me giggle as one of them reminded me of a yoga pose… it involved squeezing your shoulder blades and keeping your back straight… this is going to be interesting because I’ve never been able to accomplish that pose, lol…

very happy it is Friday and to celebrate I had some almonds with black currant chocolate from Soma Chocolate… the chocolate came as a cacao pod in a nest of chocolate twigs…

I put them into one of the darling new heart-shaped bowls that were one of the gifts from my daughter…

a delicious treat… and a lovely way to end the week…

it was exciting to get to visit the Peace Tower while we were in Ottawa, but also sad

the last time I was in the Parliament Buildings was over 40 years ago ago…

at that time you just walked in and looked around…

now you have to go through security twice, once outside the building and then again inside…

there are security guards everywhere and many parts of the building are blocked off…

sad commentary on the world we live in…

unbelievable… my credit card has been compromised again

third time in the last few months…

actually discovered it last Wednesday and called the bank, but they couldn’t get me a card before I left the city on my trip… so they suggested that I wait and call them once I got home…

I called today and they cancelled all of the Uber charges made in California last week, and they cancelled the card and reissued a new one…

with any luck I will have a new card by Friday…

this is the problem with only having one card…

our last day in Ottawa…

we were up early to see my daughter off to work and say goodbye

we packed our bags, cleaned up the bedrooms and had some breakfast…

then we walked down the street to the Science and Technology Museum… it just reopened recently so we were excited to check it out…

lots to see and do… fun in the sound area and the technology area as well… lots of time spent in the crazy kitchen… built a flying bug and wandered through the boutique

back at the house my daughter texted to say she was able to finish early and drive us to the airport…

good flight except for the descent which was hard on my grandson’s ear

picked up by the daddy and brother, collected wings and had supper before they headed home…

one vacation complete… now for a rest, lol…
