on my way home tonight stopped by the creek to get a shot of the high water/ice…

noticing more and more each day how quickly the snow is melting away… makes me happy…

before too long I’ll be sitting on the back deck by the pond

enjoying the hyacinth which is blooming so nicely…

sadly I can barely smell it’s beautiful perfume… my cold is giving me a run for my money, lol…

and I was very pleased to discover the purple Superstore boxes that my kids dropped off today… I traded some green ones…

little things continue to make me happy

started taking Cold FX just before leaving for vacation as I was sensing a cold starting

this morning the cold arrived… funny voice early in the day with a sore throat and my nose has been running like mad… of course it was wonderful that it held off while we were away…

when I got home from work I made zucchini basil chicken soup which was very tasty, and climbed into bed…

two more days before I can hibernate for a bit and get well…

been thinking recently about exercise…

today an article came up in my email about walking… was fun to take… got 10 out of 13 correct…

nearly finished our 30 day challenge at the office and I have done my exercises every day… will be taking a break when we are finished… I’ve pulled something in my right side and I think it needs a rest so it can recover…

really looking forward to getting over to the Park and wandering through the English and Leo Mol Gardens… should be soon…

purple hyacinth blooming…

lovely evening with my ReImagining group tonight…

we haven’t met for the last few months as weather and other activities intervened…

been carrying around their Christmas gifts in the trunk of the car in my favourite purple bag, lol…

these are the last few which weren’t chosen…

supper was Irish stew with mashed potatoes… so good and the potatoes were a wonderful treat…

and then there was dessert…

we got to make collages and talk about Spring plans…

wonderful evening…

fun and frustration today…

spent some time cleaning off the deck and then sitting out reading and listening to music… warm enough to just have on a long shirt and culotte jeans…

heard and spotted geese flying overhead and managed to catch them on my phone…

my daughter was working but all the boys came over and we headed out to do some shoppingexcept that my car wouldn’t start… the boys pushed it out of the garage and into the street where my son-in-law boosted it…

we went to the first grocery store and when we came out the car wouldn’t start again… found a fellow leaving his car and got a boost… went to two more stores and we ran in and left my son-in-law in the car to drive around while we shopped… by the third store we all went in and rushed through to be sure the car would work…

on our way home we went to Canadian Tire and picked up a battery charger…

while supper was cooking, we charged the battery so it should be fine tomorrow…

when we were out I picked up a purple hyacinth and some purple flowers…

the funny thing was that when we arrived home from our vacation the kids’ vehicle wouldn’t start… then, this morning my son-in-law’s car wouldn’t start;-(… but this was the third, so we should be good, lol…

took it easy today after all the fun and busyness of the last week…

slept in and had a smoothie for breakfast… unpacked and did laundry… put chemicals in the hot tub and watered the plants…

added the new blanket to the bed, watched a good amount of tv (we didn’t even turn the one on in our room while we were away)… and also ate chips… had very few while I was away… missed them a lot…

gathered up all the chocolate that I purchased and took a few photos…

loving my new tech bag… it has all my bits and pieces in one spot…

tonight took this picture of the sun setting… appreciated the sunsets in Mazatlan but happy to be home and see my own, lol…

really enjoyed the quiet day

today we were up very early…

we had our luggage down to the lobby before six and waited for the bus to take us to the airport…

while we waited the sun rose… enjoyed the beauty one last time…

we rode the bus through the city which was nice as we had gone around it when we arrived…

when we got to the airport we had breakfast and then waited as our flight was delayed… thank goodness for technology, lol…

after a long flight we arrived home… as we were landing planes were taking people to other vacations…

after a taxi home, the kids discovered the battery on their vehicle was dead… luckily a friend was close by and they were able to boost it and head home…

lots of snow has melted away and looking forward to the rest of it disappearing soon…

been a wonderful time away but I am happy to be in my own home once again…

Mazatlan Day 7…

our final full day here… some of us went shopping while some went to the pool… had a chance to go into the Sea Shell Museum… well, the main floor which was a giant store where you could purchase many, many types of shells…

I was so overwhelmed that I ended up just taking a picture, lol…

then I found a tablecloth that I really needed and which may end up as a light blanket for my bed… also picked up some chocolate with mango liquor in it:-)…

when we got back to the hotel we joined the others at the pool where we read and played in the water for ages… had our lunch on the patio overlooking the ocean in two shifts…

more pool time and then a last chance to get our toes wet in the ocean…

the middle grandson and I went for a last wander down the beach and I came upstairs to pack my bag…

supper with our favourite wait person – Jhonaten and it was seafood night…

I have had shrimp at every opportunity as it is what this area of Mexico is known for…

a final sunset and we are all ready to head to the airport and home early in the morning…

great times and wonderful memories of family fun;-)…

my roomie and I…

foggy morning… we had breakfast and then went in search of tequila, cigars and chocolate…

walked up the street and found a tequila shop which specializes in mango tequila… also had a few other types… found cigars in a little store close by and then took a Pulmonia downtown… apparently we could all ft in one because the two younger boys could sit on our laps…

checked out the large market and then went in search of chocolate… found some a few blocks away from the market in a department store, lol…

then we went in search of the cliff divers… took a few wrong turns and walked a bit further than needed but eventually we found the spot…

seems like a dangerous pastime but one of the divers told me being injured is part of the job… yikes…

back to the hotel for a nap and some pool time…

this is the hallway outside our room… you can see a busy part of the city through the open portion of the windows…

here’s our chocolate haul… hope it is tasty;-)…

missed the sun setting by a few minutes tonight but it was still a lovely sky…

one last day tomorrow;-)…

as usual I was up and on the balcony by 6… bit of early morning fog then…

but by 6:45 it was nearly gone… called the other daughter as today is her birthday…

had breakfast around 8 and then we headed to the beach in front of the hotel… spent the day there… we beachcombed, jumped in the waves, rode on boogy boards, relaxed, got henna tattoos, drank piña coladas, shopped for signs, jewellery and sea shells…

and parasailed…

my daughter took the shots from up in the air…

I got to go on my own… such fun

we spent a final hour in the pool and headed to our rooms to rest and get ready for dinner at the Mexican restaurant…

enjoyed our supper and are all headed to bed…

all that fun wears a person out, lol…

here’s today shell collection… that we found…

and the purchased ones which came from the island just across from the hotel…
