finally went for a walk a week ago…

took a few books and dropped them off at a Little Library…

on my walk I got a few nice photos…

this flower bed had purple in it and on the planter and behind is a purple picnic table;-)…

didn’t go all the way to the Park, but want to get back into the habit, so decided to start small…

felt good;-)…

on Monday, I made a toasted tomato and bacon sandwich, with a tomato from a friend…

it was delicious and reminded me of my beloved…

he made the most delicious tomato sandwiches…

I couldn’t figure out why they were so delicious… at some point I realized that he used a ton of Miracle Whip…

but, my oh my, they were mouthwatering

went for a drive with my adventure partner…

drove just outside the city to Jonathan’s Farm to collect the veggies we both ordered online…

it was a sunny day and the drive was relaxing…

there was no one around when we arrived although I spotted someone in the field way down the way, lol…

we gathered up our produce and headed home…

the one thing we noticed was all the crazy drivers on the road, lol… Friday and everyone was in a hurry to get somewhere 🤪…

looking forward to some delicious meals…

hack…

I saw this hack on Instagram or Facebook a few weeks ago and then basically crocheted the extension cord…

wasn’t until last Sunday that I tried using it, and it worked perfectly…

the cord kind of folds into itself and nothing gets tangled… you just undo the amount of cord you need and once done, crochet it back up…

impediment…

finally the gate area got finished on Sunday… we got up and out early to beat the heat;-)…

a ton of dirt had been dug up, and a big chunk of cement removed a while back, so Sunday the area was levelled out, quarter down was poured and packed down, and blocks were laid where the garbage and recycling bins reside…

this will make it much easier to move them on recycling days;-)…

next, a spring was attached so that the gate will automatically close after being opened… I particularly wanted this as it opens into the lane and could be an impediment to a vehicle driving along…

the final piece of work involved extending the depth of the hole that the latch goes into… it will make opening and closing the gate simpler…

clover seed was sprinkled over the dirt to fill it in… it looks tidy and organized…

I am pleased that this project is finally completed.

while I was searching for a plant pot in the garage recently, I came across my pond floats…

been wondering where they were, lol…

my beloved found three for me a number of years ago, and the purple one I made when we went to a glass blowing class in Seattle…

they would have looked nice with all the water lilies, but now they are brightening up the pond instead of the flowers;-)…

on Monday night, just before supper, I looked up and spotted a beautiful rainbow…

it faded and then a double one started up, and after it faded, there was a third one, with very bright colours…

what a treat…

reminded me of our time in Maui when we saw five different rainbows in an hour…

had some fun on the deck…

brought out the pothos vine from the dining room… it had overgrown its container and really needed to be repotted…

pulled out one of the purple pots that I bought from the Dollar store months ago and filled it with compost and soil…

before setting the plant in, I loosened the roots which were circling the rootball… centred it in the new pot and filled it up with soil… gave it a good water and wound the vines around the pot…

and finally, moved it back to its spot on the shelf;-)…

I think it will look better in a few weeks when the leaves turn to the light…

months ago I put the copper pipe chimes together, that my beloved had made, using masking tape…

finally, I brought up the drill and found an appropriate bit…

took off the ugly green tape, put the top plexiglass piece into the clamp, and drilled six holes…

then I attached the six pipes to the top and hung it back up…

way to go me;-)…
