my grandson came over to shovel today… and pick up a few woodworking tools for his online woods class…
just before he arrived I watched a couple of bunnies eating on the deck…
it was much easier to clean up the snow as it was fairly fresh… the last time it was a few weeks before he was able to get here, mainly due to the crazy cold we went through…
today, he was dropped off and wasn’t picked up for a few hours, so after he finished shovelling, he came inside and we had a visit… we sat as far as possible from one another in the living room and both wore masks…
I learned about his classes and what he has been up to, as well as how he is planning to make money in the future…
we talked about how he will go about taking drivers Ed in these strange times, and it is hard to believe that he will be driving this summer;-)…
it was lovely to spend time with him, even just sitting playing on our phones, lol…
he was picked up, the tools were gathered into the vehicle, and off they went…
went out to fill the feeders this afternoon… it is so cold out that I didn’t want the birds to run out of food…
started with the front feeders… only took a few minutes to fill one and put out fresh suet in the other…
then I went through the house and out the back… filled the first feeder and took the second into the garage to fill it… by then my fingertips felt very cold… I had hoped to add more to the first feeder, but my fingers were numb… clearly I had the wrong gloves on…
I quickly added seeds to the feeders on the deck and came in…
last evening I spent time on Instagram… people tend to put up their nine most liked photos of the year, but I decided to put up my nine favourite ones…
I was thinking they would be flowers, with maybe a bird or piece of chocolate included…
once I finished, there were seven with flowers, one bird and a monarch butterfly…
looking through the pictures reminded me of some wonderful times over this past year…
my orchids, which provide such joy for me all year long…
planting, growing and enjoying morning glories, datura and dahlias…
time spent, with and without cameras, viewing the birds in the garden…
a rose along the sidewalk on one of the walks I took this year, with my daughter in my ear;-)…
the amazing time I spent over the summer with eggs, caterpillars and butterflies… and the day my grandson and I watched the butterflies appear…
time with hearts and flower bouquets…
the water lily flowers that erupted in the pond… had the most blooms ever this summer… and I hope to overwinter them in the aquarium…
lovely reminders of a crazy, but wonderfully special year…
this morning I went into the garage and put birdseed into pails and a bin… I was very happy because the woman from Preferred Perch who delivered it last night put the bags on the table for me…
the bags weigh 50 pounds so that made it easier to fill the pails and bin and there is still one entire bag left…
I think there will be enough to last for quite a while…
today I was so excited when Virginia, my mail carrier, rang the doorbell as she dropped off a parcel… she always rings the bell when she leaves something that doesn’t fit into the mailbox…
it was the wifi cameras I ordered so I could watch the birds at the feeders;-)…
plugged them in, connected them to wifi, and then to the app on my phone… easy peasy;-)…
