today we went to Ali’i Kula Lavender… we thought it was just a lavender field but it turned out to have a whole lot of flowering plants and trees as well…

had a lovely wander around and took a few photos, lol…

from there we headed over to Maui Chocolate and Coffee Tours at Kupa’a Farms where we had a wonderful visit with Ann and Janet and Gerry… we talked about jewellery and Instagram and then we got to see cacao trees… somebody was very happy…

we saw all kinds of other trees and learned how chocolate is made, followed by a great chocolate tasting…

what a glorious afternoon…

had a sweet snack tonight…

pistachios and a few pieces of a Lindt chocolate bar…

just this morning someone commented about how well I am watching my sugar intake…

and then I ate cake at lunch;-(… it was a small piece, but I ate the whole thing…

I don’t care much for cake… my mom always made cherry pie for my birthday, lol… but this cake was amazing…

purple-y kind of day…

a few days ago I had a nice pedicure with my daughter and most of the cost was covered by a points program so that was a treat…

later on we stopped at Polo Park and I was able to get my cute Purdys mug replaced…

the one I had before said “I believe in chocolate for breakfast” (which is something my eldest daughter says often) but this new one has less gold on it and the purple paint feels a bit thicker, so maybe it won’t flake off like the first one did… the salesperson said she had this particular mug and hadn’t had any problems with it…

been a week since the conversation with the doctor about my A1C and how I need to work to get it down a bit…

happily we both agreed that I can do this with more control of my diet and without meds…

I think it was just the day before that visit that I ordered a bunch of chocolate from Soma Chocolatemaker and it arrived this week, lol…

one of the things I ordered was this blackcurrant flavour that I fell in love with after one of the Easter treats from my daughter… trying to figure out how I can have some without messing up the stricter eating plan…

one thing I did do was start cutting my wonderful Advent bonbons into quarters and just having one of them each morning… it has made me focus on the bite and I’ve really enjoyed the flavour of each one…

today I took the extra pieces and shared them with my colleagues;-)… made everyone happy…

a parcel arrived for me at the office on Wednesday…

my daughter had advised that she had ordered a Chocolate Lab Advent calendar for me but I wasn’t sure when it would arrive…

opened it up and discovered inside the lovely box filled with beautiful chocolate bonbons…

because I was planning to stop for a haircut on my way home that night, I decided not to take it home with me, as I didn’t want the chocolates to freeze…

one thing I’ve learned from my daughter is that you have to be careful of chocolate, not let it get too hot or too cold so that it’s at its best… left it on my desk all day Thursday but brought it home that night… put it on top of the fish tank where it looks quite lovely…

looking forward to opening it on December 1 and checking out the first drawer to taste the delicious bonbon inside… I sure am lucky…

been pretty lucky in the chocolate department recently…

picked up some Decadence Chocolate a while back… took my grandsons to the shop and they each chose a bar and we got the last chocolate-dipped strawberries for our supper… oh my, oh my…

might also have had some of my Berrilicious Chocolate bar…

Amanda, of Melt Chocolate Company, delivered a couple of boxes of bonbons…

I only had one and it was delicious… I shared the rest with my BS buddies and work colleagues…

I had planned to send some to my daughter in Ottawa, but with the rotating postal strikes we decided it didn’t make sense to send them as they need to be eaten while they are still fresh…

anticipated a quiet day… no plans to go out or anyone coming over… I would watch the Remembrance Day service on Parliament Hill and read and watch tv…

woke up to blue sky out the window… haven’t had much of that recently, so it was a great treat…

I did a few little jobs around the house and settled in to watch the service…

received a message that someone was going to drop off some chocolate within the hour, so I responded saying as long as it wasn’t while the service was on…

then my son-in-law called and said he was on the way over for tea… he and the youngest arrived just as the moment of silence was taking place…

we watched together and a few minutes later there was a loud noise coming from the driveway… the person who is going to clear my snow had come over and was blowing the little bit of snow on the ground with a strong leaf blower… I wrote out cheques while we were watching the tv and then waited for him to knock on the door… eventually I realized he had left…

about then the kids left…

didn’t really get to watch much of the ceremony, lol…

decided not to nap in case either the snow blower person or the chocolate person turned up…

the snow clearing person arrived a bit later and I gave him the cheques…

wasn’t until I was making supper that the chocolate person arrived…

much busier day than expected…

started my day at La Belle Baguette to pick up some bread for lunch… found a few lemon tarts and a couple of chocolate bars to go along with it…

went nicely with the zucchini basil soup at lunch…

snow… not exactly how I wanted to arrive home at the end of the day although they’ve been threatening it for a few days, lol… you will notice that I gave in and actually had socks on;-)…

ended the day with a large bowl of Thai shrimp soup… lovely as all I had to do was warm it up…

yesterday saw Prairie Nurses at PTE… it was funny and entertaining…

first show of the season and there was a full house…

beforehand we went out for lunch at the Falafel Place…

had some delicious falafel, and salad with hot cooked onions and garlic as part of the dressing… wasn’t sure how I would like it, but it was delicious…

enjoyed the show and had a lovely snack of Callebaut chocolate and some almonds…

walked home from the end of the street and got this shot of the many bare trees…
