was reminded of how blessed I am…
once a month cleaners come to give the house a once over..
when I walked into the bedroom after they left I laughed at how lovely the bed looked…
they took all of the cushions in the room and placed them on the bed;-)…

my tea towel on the stove, folded very nicely by the cleaners who were here a few days ago, reminded me of how blessed I am…
for years we couldn’t afford a cleaner…
but for the last number of years I’ve had a company come in once a month to do the basics which makes me feel like the house is mainly clean, lol…
I am ever thankful to my beloved who made this wonderful gift possible;-)… I continue to miss him every single day…

when the cleaners were here last week, I heard a crash and one of them brought me this angel… in three pieces…
it was put on the kitchen counter and my housemate first glued on one piece, left it for a few days and added the other piece…
he is much more precise when putting things together, lol… reminds me of my beloved;-)…
she is now put together nicely, although missing a hand, but we haven’t found that piece…
still, she has joined her sisters on the bedroom shelf…

today I had another wonderful example of great use of technology…
I always think of how privileged I am that I am able to have someone come and clean for me…
the two cleaners arrived right on time and asked me to wait when I started to speak to them about what needed to be done… I was told “no English”…
once they had all their equipment inside, one of them got out their phone and went to Google Translate… then they spoke, I read, I spoke, they read…
how cool is that… they were a husband and wife who came here from Ukraine, where they had been accountants…
it was lovely that we could communicate so well…

to make cleaning easier I always put most of the items on the bedside table into the drawer before the cleaners arrive…
after they leave I bring the items back out…
I absolutely love the amethyst heart that I purchased for my birthday when we were in Hawaii…
it sits at the edge of the Google Display and makes me smile every time I see it;-)…
took it downstairs into the sunlight to get a good photo before returning it back to its spot;-)…

had a busy day…
enjoyed the hibiscus which surprised me with a new flower yesterday and is still blooming, cozied up agains the wall;-)…
ran towels through the washer, folded and put them away…
it has been crazy cold here, but the sun was shining as I shovelled the snow to get to the garbage and recycling bins and then took out a ton of stuff, completely filling the recycle bin… will need to remember to put it in the lane for pickup day, lol…
did some tidying as the cleaners are coming tomorrow…
as I tidy I always remember how blessed I am;-)…

I’ve been laughing since Wednesday, when my wonderful cleaning crew came and cleaned the house…
I was in the bathroom after they left and realized that they had tossed the box I had been using for my reusable tissues… it was empty because all of the tissues were in the midst of being laundered…
I checked in the recycling bin, but they must have tossed it into the garbage bag and I wasn’t digging through that…
after thinking about it for a while, I opened the end of the actual Kleenex box that was there for anyone else who comes over and popped them into it…
think it should work fine and I will be careful not to let it sit on the shelf empty, lol…

I am getting more comfortable with the cleaners coming into the house…
my technique is to decide where I will hide while they are cleaning… I don’t emerge until they have left the house, lol…
today, I spent the time in the computer room and shredded a ton of documents… had to empty the shredder at least three times…
felt quite productive…

finished tidying the house this morning and then spent time reading while I waited for my cleaners…
once they arrived I got dressed and walked over to the hairdresser to get a trim… we both noticed that my hair seems to be growing a bit more quickly right now… once it was cut there was still a tiny bit of purple remaining…
it was a nice stroll there, a bit breezy, but on the way back big snowflakes were coming down and the wind was blowing sideways… happily my son-in-law picked me up part way home…
cleaners had gone, I made tea and we had a visit before he was off to his next activity…
finished the afternoon reading;-)…
snow finally stopped and it looked so quiet and peaceful out there…
friends came by for coffee and a visit, and when they left it was snowing again;-(…

well, what a pleasant surprise…
the cleaners came today… they usually come on the first Monday of the month and I expected they wouldn’t be here until next week as yesterday was a holiday…
luckily, I tidied up this morning before I left for work…
the house just feels better when I walk in and I know right away that they’ve been…
I always giggle when they rearrange the cushions, lol…
I am so blessed…
