had a lovely time on Sunday getting ready for a Christmas gathering with my friends on Monday…
dug out a snowflake tablecloth and discovered some stains on it so soaked, washed, and dried it before placing it on the table…
then I brought down Christmas plates to put on the table…
snowflake napkins and silverware, along with chopsticks finished the setup…
a bouquet of red and white flowers went into a low vase to finish off the display;-)…
we met on Monday and had a delicious lunch via Skip the Dishes… such a great way to share a meal together stress–free for everyone, lol…
before we ate, we took our annual Christmas photo, once I remembered which particular button to press on the camera, lol…
once we’d eaten, we moved to the living room to open our gifts to one another… always great fun and thoughtful presents…
such a special group of women…

had a wonderful lunch date on Tuesday…
a dear friend came by with fish and chips and we had a delightful visit…
it has been a while since we’ve been together and it is always a treat to spend time with her…
we traded gifts and she headed off after some warm hugs;-)…

picked up candy canes and more oranges…
makes a lovely display on the table in the living room and ensures I have treats available whenever someone stops by…
I also picked up unshelled nuts (much harder to find these days) which have been a long time family tradition;-)…

out for a lovely dinner a few days ago and came home with a box of delicious frozen treats…
there were five or six types of cookies and a few butter tarts, one of my favourites;-)…
what a delightful surprise…
now to eat some and share some too;-)…

went to take out the last sleeve of crackers and thought it had already been opened because it was so low in the box…
it wasn’t, and I was shocked when I measured the sleeve alongside the box…
it was way shorter…
maybe the price hasn’t changed much, but there are way less crackers in it…

I have come across a few lovely memories…
from visiting beaches, playing with grandkids, eating with family, cold weather fun, to barbecuing dinner…
such wonderful memories…
tonight burgers were eaten in Winnipeg and Ottawa to remember a very special person…

visited Shelmerdine to pick up their special ornament for this year…
in previous years I had got a beautiful porcelain dove and one year I got the beautiful heart for some of my friends;-)…
the one for this year is holly leaves and berries in silver metal…
a friend had picked me up to go and afterwards we went out for lunch… I had bruschetta and it was very tasty…
then it was home for a nap, lol…
such a lovely treat…

I was surprised when the doorbell rang as I wasn’t expecting anything, but after the recent surprise of my daughter at the door, I hurried to see who or what was there…
it was a parcel with my name on it;-)…
opened it to discover a Walker’s Shortbread Advent Calendar, woohoo…
the kids in Ottawa had sent it and I was very excited to receive it…
I’d never seen an advent calendar by them before and just recently my friends and I had been discussing how much we all liked their shortbread cookies…
I can hardly wait for December 1st when I can open the first flap on the calendar;-)…
what a delightful treat…
I was thinking about what a world we live in where you can see something, buy it online, and have it sent directly to someone in another city;-)…
