had some fun painting… well, playing with watercolour paint, lol…
got organized one day, when I taped the papers to a counter in the kitchen… thought that the height would be good for the activity…
the next day I tried different materials to paint with… used paper towel, aluminum foil, saran wrap…
it was fun to experiment and see what using each produced…
eventually, I was able to put them onto card stock… I am pleased with how they turned out…
since then I’ve done another batch… painted, separated the sections, trimmed the corners, put double-sided tape on them, attached to card stock and put them in envelopes…
this morning I learned something new… well, a few things, lol… I wanted to watch my daughter in a Live on Instagram, and thought I would watch it on my laptop…
searched the internet and discovered I could download an app from the Microsoft Store so that I would be able to…
downloaded it, but of course there were no Lives happening in my feed and the time to watch was getting closer… by then I had both my phone and the app open, to be sure I wouldn’t miss it… just before she was to come on, someone else started a Live and I could see it on the computer screen… yay…
happily watched the presentation and then decided that I would follow the directions to make a pocket for the back of myChocolate Notebook…
went to my chocolate bar box and looked for a wrapper to use… I don’t have many bars just now and no empty wrappersbecause I send them to my daughter who uses them for a number of things…
I found a Soma Twinkle Bar that I love and decided to use the back of the wrapper… it has the saying “travelling without moving” which seemed perfect, especially these days… I enjoy everything from Soma and not long ago put in an order with a friend to help with the shipping costs…
I put the washi tape into a regular scotchtape dispenser and it worked perfectly…
used mountain scape washi tape to go around the wrapper on the three sides, following the directions provided by Genevieve and then I added tape across the top, on the wrapper only, so that it looked framed!
it was fun to find a new way to see Instagram, although a bit stressful with the timing… and fun to make something…
this morning my contemplating card was about gratitude…
a short time later I was putting on this lovely pashmina which hangs on the back of one of the chairs in the living room… it was a gift from a dear friend and is pink and purple…
I added a magnetic pin that I received at one of the SHEday events to hold it closed…
reminded me of how grateful I am to have many great and caring friends, and that I have participated in some amazing activities…
another thing I am grateful for is that when we remember something particular, usually we focus on the fun/good parts, not necessarily the things that weren’t as much fun, lol…
received a chocolate tasting package from my daughter months ago…
we finally got together via Google Duo and did the tasting together… the last time I participated in one was over Christmas in her dining room… it was set up beautifully…
this one was certainly different… I didn’t think to put them on a pretty plate, but did have them lined up and with the note pages… in the end I felt very happy and enjoyed what I had learned… she really helped me discover the different notes of the five pieces of chocolate;-)…
we had wonderful times at the beach and in the water… the area is quiet so that means the beach is too the majority of the time…
I did watch kids from a few cottages over as they kneeboarded and that was fun…
we went in the water often and it was refreshing… we floated on pool noodles and had deep conversations and lots of laughter…
we also found tons of zebra mussels… only a couple the first few days, but after a really windy evening that blew into shore there were many clusters under our feet… one day we spent at least an hour or so feeling them with our toes and then having someone lift them up with their feet so we could collect them and bring them to shore to be disposed of… it was great exercise…
they are very sharp and all three of my companions ended up with cuts on their feet that had to be taken care of to be sure that no infections occurred… I nearly always wore my water shoes so happily was able to feel the clumps or sticks or rocks with them on and not get injured…
