Monday another hole was made in the sky…
first thing in the morning a number of trucks filled up the street…
they were there to cut down one of the elm trees… I hadn’t realized that it had been marked…
it took four hours to get it down to the stump… and then they left… about an hour later a few of them returned and ground it down to nothing…
amazing how complicated the process is… it was interesting to watch…

took all the pieces of the arch out onto the deck and finished putting it together…
tightened all the screws and voila… done…
it looks very tall, and should work perfectly… sure hope it fits…
had to lay it down as the wind was picking up and I didn’t want it to fall over before it made it to its new home, lol…
still waiting for the last of the snow to melt so we can try it out…

Tuesday, the patio door was open for a good portion of the day… guess it is time to connect the spring again…
always such a treat when that day arrives each spring… spent a good portion of the day sitting on the deck…
started the morning in one of the new deck chairs… after I pulled out one of the cushions from the garage… needed a blanket and jacket, but the sun was shining;-)…
then I brought out the wicker set from under the tarp on the back deck… I purchased and put them together last year…
and got very comfortable… by that time the jacket was off and the blanket put to the side…
wonderful way to spend the first day that was warm and sunny enough to be outdoors…

on March 12, this is how the deck table looked covered in snow and with the very dilapidated old umbrella… and then on the 2nd of April when the new umbrella was installed…
Sunday, the chairs made it onto the deck… and Monday, the table got washed and the chairs set around it…
starting to look like spring;-)…

eventually I knew it would happen… the snow is melting;-)…
the concrete on the driveway is doing a great warming job…
and the grass is becoming more visible every hour as the sun shines down…
so exciting to watch the snow melt away…

finally got the seeds into the soil…
so far, there are morning glories as well as purple and white daturas planted… last year I didn’t remember to start any of the daturas, so am excited to see how they will do this year…
started with plastic wrap on top, but then I found some glass in the basement which covers the pots nicely…
I am turning the light on first thing in the morning, and off just before I head to bed;-)…
now to wait for some sprouts…

feels like working to clean up the computer room is a never-ending project…
but…
on Saturday I found my original seashell collection…
I can’t believe it… I came across a box that hadn’t been opened yet and figured it was filled with more papers… and when I took off the lid, this is what I saw;-)…
yikes, not even going to think how long that corner of the room hasn’t been touched…
what a lovely time I had today, unwrapping each one and putting them in the table and credenza…
memories came flooding back as I remembered names of many of the shells as they emerged from the 1998 newspapers they were wrapped in…
going to take out my resource books and do a bit of a refresher, lol…
