been having trouble keeping one of the medicine cabinet doors closed for the last few weeks…
I thought it was because the magnet on the mirror was separating from the plastic behind it…
the other morning I looked at it and thought it was no longer level…
at which point I discovered that the plastic where the door attached to the cabinet had broken… it took two of us to remove the broken cabinet…
what a treat to discover my beloved’s handwritten measurements inside the hole🤗…
after measuring the space, it was off to Home Depot to see if we could find something that would fit into the hole in the wall… and of course I needed two, sigh…
we found a cabinet that should work, but the store we were at didn’t have any in stock, so it meant another trip… after trying two other stores it was off to Rona, where we found two of the same cabinet at an even better price;-)…
it has been fourteen years since my beloved installed these cabinets when we redid the bathroom, so I guess it did pretty well, being opened more than ten thousand times, lol… that wasn’t a bad run…
and, just like that we have two new cabinets, although the space inside them is smaller, but they will work fine;-)…
had a very eventful last day with my son-in-law’s mom, lol…
started with a 7 am call to have the plumber come out to fix an issue in the bathroom… this also meant we were up early…
meanwhile my son-in-law was outside shovelling snow while the neighbour snowblowed both driveways…
then we got dressed in our finery for a photo shoot by one of my daughter’s friends…
we worked from a list to be sure that we covered every combination we could think of… wore two different outfits, had pictures of various combinations of people taken outside and inside and had lots of laughs throughout…
a visit with the photographer, breakfast for lunch, and then I built a tiny snow person before enjoying a wonderful walk around the block in the falling snow…
many pictures later I returned, just in time to join the nap club;-)…
we had appies, homemade and store bought crackers and toasted the new year – at 10:30, which was New Year’s in Newfoundland, where my son-in-law’s mom is from…
we watched a movie, recognized the New Year in Ottawa and went to bed… we did not stay up for the Manitoba time, lol…
Shadow was traded in and I got a 2018 model tonight… this time I bought the car rather than lease it… I am most excited about the heated steering wheel although when my grandson takes it over, down the road, he will likely appreciate the various safety features… the car will keep you inside the lines on the road and match the speed of the car ahead of you on the highway… pretty cool…
was a bit of a process to get the tires into the car to take with me, lol… happily my neighbour was out and about and was able to come over and help me get them loaded…
I haven’t decided on a name for this new vehicle just yet…
took everything out of the various storage places and even remembered to remove the garage door opener, lol…
took a final picture of Shadow as she sat outside the doors of the dealership… it was very cold as I walked to and from the insurance company… wasn’t thinking I’d be outside for so long… eventually got the keys and met the new vehicle in my life… they even put a big bow on her…
she’s a beauty… now I just have to learn all the new stuff…
