great day…

slept in and watched some tv…

picked up by a friend and we went out for lunch at Pho Hoang… shared some tofu spring rolls and I had seafood chow mein…

great catch-up and delicious lunch… we giggled because we both tried something other than our usual menu choices…

from there we headed to PTE and saw Mom’s the Word: Nest 1/2 Empty…

it was sooooo funny… we laughed all the way through it… brought home 2 delicious homemade gingerbread bars after I ate a tasty fancy almond covered cookie that had homemade jam in it… cannot remember the exact name of either of them, lol…

walked from Portage without any gloves… didn’t realize that they weren’t in my pocket… good thing it was quite warm, lol… and then found them on the sofa;-)…

finally had the time to take a photo of the February Chihuly calendar… the piece is called blue frog foot fiore… this installation was at the New York Botanical Garden in 2017…

was picked up by friends, went to the Nhu Quynh for a lovely lunch before we headed to PTE for this month’s show, which was excellent…

nice to spend time with friends…

yesterday saw Prairie Nurses at PTE… it was funny and entertaining…

first show of the season and there was a full house…

beforehand we went out for lunch at the Falafel Place…

had some delicious falafel, and salad with hot cooked onions and garlic as part of the dressing… wasn’t sure how I would like it, but it was delicious…

enjoyed the show and had a lovely snack of Callebaut chocolate and some almonds…

walked home from the end of the street and got this shot of the many bare trees…

the silly hot tub is still not working properly… spent some time at the store and have a few more things to try… the temperature was 101 when I left home and when I returned it was 98… not really the direction I was hoping for, sigh…

spent some time with my leg up and iced it before being picked up to go to our last PTE play of the year…

leg is feeling good and the play was funny…

spent some time this morning watching the Olympics… although there was hockey on for part of the time…

then it was off to PTE to see How the Heavens Go… on the way we stopped at Morden’s and I picked up a salted caramel dark chocolate, along with a few other items… the milk chocolate version was one of George’s favourites… it was six years ago today that we laid him to rest…

had also brought a few shortbread cookies that my friend had made for me after Christmas, which are in the freezer so I can have a treat now and then…

as I walked up the street on the way home, I had to stop and take this picture… the tree is so pretty even though it was gray out…

there are still many trees covered in snow… a number of my cedars have bent over branches and I am hopeful that they will recover…

been doing a bit of reading on taking better photos with my iPhone…

today I spent some time working on a reflection picture… here’s one of the pictures that came out fairly well… maybe not as dark as it should have been…

then it was out and about for lunch and our play at PTE…

lunch was a lovely treat…salad rolls and a noodle bowl at Nhu Quynh on Ellice… delicious, and I even managed to bring some home for tomorrow…

the Christmas decorations at Portage Place were pretty, so I took a few pictures… then on to the play… the set was made up of suitcases… very cool…

had some of a dark chocolate Callebaut bar... delicious…

then home for a nap… was up very early this morning…

another fun, full day…

quiet relaxing morning and then off for lunch with my play-buddy before we headed to the last one of the season…

lunch was at Clementine’s in the Exchange District… had a very tasty Braised Bacon Benedict (Maple Sabayon, Dill, Poached Eggs, Cheddar Biscuit) and we shared a Braman’s Greens, Sweet Cayenne Walnuts, Smoked Dates, Apples, Mimolette Cheese, House Dressing salad…

the biscuit brought a light feel to the dish and the maple sabayon was delicious… the salad was like dessert to end the meal… yummy…

then we moved on to PTE for our final play of the season… it was very funny… while we were there we signed up for next year;-)…

I am always impressed with the sets and how they convey so much more than is actually there…

got home and my sister-in-law and nephew picked me up and we went to his place for supper… got to meet the team… fifteen sled dogs… these are just a few of them…

we had a wonderful dinner of BBQ steak, baby potatoes and onions, mushrooms asparagus, and a caprese salad… what a treat to just sit back and enjoy as others did the work…
