recently it was pointed out to me that I don’t show much of my garden on Instagram…

that is because I usually focus on close ups of the flowers in the garden, lol…

when I joined Instagram my focus was photos of flowers and I have continued to concentrate on that theme over the years with the odd picture of critters and chocolate included…

this is rather funny as I spend most of my days in this renewing space…

a few days ago I took a number of photos in the garden once all the cushions were out and then put them up in my Stories…

it was a fun process and I had to relearn how to do a few things;-)…

now there are Highlights of the garden… of course the funny thing is that the garden is not at its best as we are moving into Fall… maybe next year I can start earlier in the season so others can see this sanctuary throughout the entire summer…

I love my garden and wonder how this crazy summer would have been without it…

I picked up a baguette the other day and here’s how I used it…

made scrambled eggs that I put on top of it… then I had Brie and pistachio toast and finished with some French toast…

happy to have used all of it up as bread is not high on the list of things I should eat… the size of the baguette was perfect…

had some tea and ginger snaps this afternoon and thought of my beloved…

ginger snaps were one of his favourites… I’m pretty sure he would have liked these…

looks like a lot, but most were broken, lol… I am getting used to ginger in things now, although for years I stayed away from it…

had my face mask on twice today…

first this morning, when I went to get some bloodwork done… now, both entrances to the clinic are open… last time I was there only the main door was open and there was a staff person making sure people were using hand sanitizer before they entered… today there was neither sanitizer nor staff person… not sure if that is an improvement or not…

I am getting more used to wearing the mask, but really dislike the fact that my phone won’t recognize me when it is on my face, lol…

later in the day I walked over to La Belle Baguette and put one on to enter the store;-)…

that may have been the first time since March that I have been inside two buildings in the same day…

a few weeks ago I ordered a couple of new bands for my Fitbit… they arrived and were excellent…

one is very fancy, but needed to be adjusted… a few days ago I cut off a portion of it, but it was still too large…

yesterday I tried again and now it fits perfectly and looks great;-)…

it was rather chilly yesterday morning… I wore pants, a long sleeve shirt and my spring/fall jacket for my walk;-(…

after the walk, with my daughter on the phone, I had breakfast and checked out the garden, but it was still chilly, lol…

deadheaded the datura in the front flower bed, did some reading and watched a very informative webinar on bird migration…

seemed like a busy day, lol…

had a short walkabout this morning and took some photos of flowers in the garden…

the water lily looks to be opening for the last time… the other two are already sinking into the water…

the butterfly bush is still blooming every day…

the datura has some beautiful colours…

there are still a few morning glories blooming each day…

and finally, the sunflower is beginning to open… not sure if it will produce sunflower seeds…

had an excellent visit with a good friend a few days ago…

she brought fresh veggies from her garden… we consulted on a project, talked about our lives, exercise, technology, and living on our own…

we ordered in some tasty Pho Hoang and had fudgicles for dessert…

after dinner, while we were sitting beside the pond, I spotted baby fish… this was very exciting…

after she left, I sat and spotted at least four, in three different sizes… looks like two about two inches long and at least one each of two smaller ones…

have not been able to get any photos as they move very quickly and look black in the water, lol… maybe they are nervous about some of those bigger ones..

spent some time in the front flower bed tidying the datura…

they are doing great… I’ve been trimming the spent blossoms so that the plant might make more flowers;-)…

also made sure that all the debris went into the pots and washed my hands afterwards as they are poisonous…

the other day I may have put my hand to my lips and had a strange sensation so am being more careful…

excellent mail day…

my updated licence arrived… I had gone to the insurance office about two weeks ago and was pleased that it turned up today, particularly with all the driving I’m doing… NOT…

I also received a parcel with three new face masks from Canadian Chocoholic… they are made from her newest fabric purchases and are beautiful… they aren’t screen printed, but two of them have elastic instead of the t-shirt yarn the others use… this was so I could wear them to get my hair cut, lol…

I love the ones with t-shirt yarn around my head because they are very comfortable, and hang nicely around my neck when not on my face, but they don’t work that well when someone is trying to cut your hair, lol…
